What are your TTRPG projects looking like?

Eh, not bad for fiddling around for ten minutes. Just a simple, eight-step sequence with some randomized percussion. High frequencies are still a little rough.

ICYMI, this happened over the weekend!
My Space Quest site, Roger Wilco's Virtual Broomcloset, launched 30 years ago this month. That makes it one of the oldest video game fan sites on the web.

To celebrate the milestone, I've updated the site for the first time in ages with tons of new content. Check it out! wiw.org/~jess/roger.html
Roger Wilco's Virtual Broomcloset: The Original Space Quest Fan Site
The web's first and most comprehensive Space Quest fan site, packed with Easter eggs, trivia, downloads, and retrospectives on Sierra's classic adventure series.

I'm streaming Slime Rancher at 7pm EST, but we're going to use the first part of the stream to talk about food pantries and blessing boxes, how to support them, and frequently overlooked items.

I used to run a pantry serving 500 families a month in rural AL.
As wobble has been pointing out there are alot of common things that arent given as much, though in all truth the best thing you can give is cash and time

Most food kitchens/pantries can get things at rates that we cannot in bulk

A lesson for econ—don’t get too obsessed with efficiency
I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

The destruction of the East Wing really bums me out in a way that I wasn't expecting.

I guess some of it is about the destruction of history. But I think it's mostly about the feeling of helplessness. There's nothing we can do to stop him.

Nobody is coming to save us. And it's going to get worse.

Smiting and vengeance is so much easier than forgiveness and charity
A lot of evangelicals seem to be more attracted to the vengeful God of the Old Testament than the forgiving God of the New.

Congress should be demanding his immediate removal for stating these intentions. He’s just outright saying we’re a pro-war crimes country.
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."

If someone from another country explained that their president could violate their constitution's plain text but that it was completely legitimate because lifetime judges who belong to political parties said he could on the "shadow docket," you would laugh at them because their country is primitive.

We are producing a generation unable and (somewhat) unwilling to think, read and write without relying on tech controlled by some of the most evil people on the planet to tell them what to think, read and write and they don’t seem to see the dangers of this dependency even if we point it out
I cannot tell you how grim the AI in higher ed situation is. Many of the students have completely surrendered to letting AI do their homework, badly, I might add. How do you fix this? Truly, what the hell do we do, beyond what grading can address, which isn't a solution?
