Random person who plays indie games, you are the most important cog in an indie game's success.

Most gamers don't know or care that indies exist.... unless a friend tells them.

Our games succeed because you tell other people you liked our game. Word of mouth is the best marketing there is.

I don't know why, but I always hear one of the lyrics in Cigarette Daydreams as "You can dry heave, all night" which would be a weird lyric but would also fit the song.

Pizzagate: If you replace the word “hot dog” with “little boy” and “pizza party” with “child sex orgy,” you will see the lengths these elites go to cover up their crimes.

Exclusive: Based on documents viewed by this newsletter, OpenAI spent over $12.4 billion on inference from 2024 to September 2025. As part of its Microsoft revenue share, it sent $493.8m in 2024/$865.8m Jan-Sep 2025, implying lower revenues than previously reported.

Realised I don't have pictures of my sona easily accessible on my profile courtesy of @konaburd.bsky.social so I'll start posting. Starting with the first one I had done. I've definitely started going a bit chunkier since this first one, but it set the direction.

Even on projects that don’t feature AI, it’s often difficult to justify how little voice actors get paid for work on projects that sell in the millions

So it’s fascinating to see folks say “they were compensated fairly” repeatedly on this occasion where we don’t even have the voice actors credited.
The argument I'm hearing about it is "the voice actors got paid for it so it's all good"

We don't know how much they got paid, or if they get royalties every time those lines get used.

It's a slippery slope being brushed off because "game good"

if Arc Raiders had plagiarized art, would it matter?

Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.

So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

This is interesting drama to follow lol

TLDR, the people who made the AI coke commercial are denying it and generating fake concept art, actual concept artists are ripping it all apart as fake because the guy has no idea how any of this works
The disconnected Apple Pencil? The expression sheet with all the same expression? The art with the footsteps in the snow in front of the characters running? The file with one (1) background layer? Erasing the “hand drawn” background by hand on said one (1) layer file? Where do I starttttttt
They did! It’s amazing (derogatory)

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Fun fact: The book was originally named "The Widening Gyre" but both my US & UK editors warned that a) maybe not everyone would get the allusion, b) no one was sure how to pronounce "gyre". Fair points; I changed the name, and then put the title into a climactic speech.
I was reading a book by @scalzi.com and heard a line ("I am the Consuming Fire") and thought wow, that would be a great name for the book, before remembering he clearly agreed because it was in fact the name of the book.
