It's the new highways through Black neighborhoods: Data centers
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that all these data centers are going into communities that have been historically targeted for exploitation and have the least amount of civic power wielded by the people living there.

Why Are Plans for This Alabama Data Center So Hush-Hush?
Officials in Bessemer, Alabama, are mum on Project Marvel, a proposed data center the size of 18 Walmart Supercenters.

They keep calling it DHS law enforcement, but this is your reminder that picking up people on the street with no evidence as to their status is not enforcing any law.

It is terrorizing people.

Kirk wanted to denaturalize his political opponents. He bussed insurrectionists to the Capital on J6. He attacked our democracy with election conspiracy theories. He urged his millions of listeners to bail Paul Pelsosi's attacker out of jail.
Baffling hagiography here. Kirk was a smirking little youtube bigot, an effective vending machine for the same dogwhistles, conspiracies, and slanders the right has trafficked in for decades. Treating him like he was some kind of intellectual seeking connection is just a lie, and why tell it?

Lost in the discussion of how Charlie Kirk "did politics the right way" are the lives of the two victims assassinated at Florida State University by a member of Kirk's organization, Turning Point USA, in April 2025.
Weird how when a Trump supporter, white supremacist, and reportedly, a former member of Turning Point USA shot up Florida State University (FSU) several months ago and killed two people - there wasn't the same national conversation about "political violence." www.mediaite.com/news/mass-sh...

I really just think it's class and racial solidarity at work. They see themselves in him and they do not have solidarity with his targets.
The reason Charlie Kirk is being lionized by so many journalists is simple: he was very good at cultivating journalists and it seems a lot of journalists don't seem to understand the concept of being cultivated as a pet reporter in exchange for scoops or leads. They think he was their friend.

Lawrence was an abolitionist settlement. In 1863 William Quantrill and his Missouri border ruffians burned it to the ground in their ongoing effort to preserve and expand chattel slavery.

Here are some fans.

The ICE agents aren’t insurrectionists, extremist militiamen or criminals, they’re the police. This is what the police look like, this is how the police operate.
We still have no idea who the ICE agents are. They could be insurrectionists, extremist militiamen or criminals themselves, chasing law-abiding citizens down the street for recording their kidnappings. The odds they aren't are low. Congress must raise hell about this. A masked gang runs our country.

TIL that Andreesen Horowitz, the main VC backer of Substack, hired Daniel Penny whose only notable achievement is that he killed a Blck man on a subway and then was acquitted for it.

He’s now an investor.

Sounds about white.

Substack is going to fuck you over. It’s just a matter of when and how.
No platform is ever truly free.

That applies whether we’re talking about TikTok, Google, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook - or Substack. And if you think to yourself, this time, it'll be different, good luck to you.

But sooner or later, you're going to get fucked.
Why I Won't Write on Substack
There is something perverse about every voice of record, every journalist with a profile, every writer with an audience abandoning ship for Substack. It's been a growing trend for the past few years, and it's getting worse. Substack has done an excellent job convincing intelligent people from legacy media backgrounds

No. They shouldn’t. That was the point of the vaccine. We eradicated the virus so children didn’t die.
