If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

I feel like I learned a lot about why some therapists just won't take any insurance when I learned that BCBS reimburses at a much lower rate for couples counseling than for individual sessions

I wrote a new piece on how much progress has been made in treating childhood leukemia.

The answer is: quite a lot!

Before the 1970s, fewer than 10% of children diagnosed survived 5 years after diagnosis.

Now most are cured and around 85% survive that long.

Two charts present survival rates for childhood leukemia over time, specifically focusing on Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). In the top panel, for ALL, a series of curved lines represent overall survival rates plotted against years since diagnosis. The lines show a marked increase in survival rates from the late 1960s, when only 14% of children survived more than five years post-diagnosis, to around 94% in the 2010s. We obtained lists of alleged gang members used by Venezuelan law enforcement and Interpol. Those lists include some 1,400 names.

I am BEGGING people to frame this properly. The issue here is not one colossal blunder where a reporter got info. The issue is it’s clear these people are all routinely ignoring the most absolutely basic security protocols, and WE HAVE NO IDEA what breaches this has already enabled.

ABC News has now fully taken down the old 538 website, including all interactive projects since 2014. Aside from erasing history this prevents access to publicly released data, including raw polls, averages, model estimates & story dta. Totally unacceptable for a company (allegedly) doing journalism
