Teen Vogue did some terrific work. Great story here on Teen Vogue and how the Vogue/Conde Nast bosses seem like the "liberal" types who have been eager to use Trump's rise as a pretext to silence progressives/leftists they disagree with. www.cjr.org/feature/the-...
What the closure of Teen Vogue means for journalism.
Condé Nast folded a beloved magazine that treated youth and feminism as political topics, not trends.

From this minister's op-ed: "People wanting to experience God are more likely to meet the Divine trying to shut down the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility than we ever were in church...God does not live in our houses of worship, but...with those who are bearing the brunt of cruelty in this moment."

it's a pretty neat trick

basically every Dem campaign actually does run on a bunch of shit the popularists say they should run on, but sometimes they lose, and that's inconvenient

so if they win? great, our plan worked

if they lose? they were secretly campaigning on Woke instead
I feel like a lot of democrats are engaged in a very big project to make us forget that the Biden administration and Harris 2024 campaign were mostly about fixing bridges
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25

This may be Trump's perfect social media post. A true work of art. He confirms:

✅He personally directs criminal investigations.
✅He is targeting opponents.
✅Epstein "records" exist and he knows the contents.

Bonus points for connecting it to investigation of his fondness for Putin.👀

Nostalgia is a key facet of fascism
It’s well trod academic ground and absolutely accurate to say nostalgia and fascism are not just bed fellows but co dependent actors that need one another to spread further.
I have come to the conclusion that nostalgia is a poison.

Like some poisons, it may have uses in small doses when carefully titrated, but when taken unfiltered and unmeasured it corrodes.

I was once walking my dog through the cemetery when we came upon a family plot -- five stones, arranged like the pips on a domino or die. The stones were very old and weathered; all I could make out on three of them was the word "Graves."

I would have thought that was obvious.

The Strategy Group got $$$ as a subcontractor for $220M in @homelandgov.bsky.social ad contracts.

“We don’t have visibility into why they were chosen,” McLaughlin said in an interview.

Trump’s Unpublished National Security Strategy Is Stephen Miller’s Far-Right Wet Dream
The president’s new national-security draft document rants against migration and cultural “erasure” – and endorses far-right political parties abroad, sources tell Zeteo.
