Very very true. You go to a city council meeting or a civic association meeting on the regular and the access and influence you'll gain is remarkable.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

If this was a surprise to you.. please take a few hours, aand listen to his songs, his tv appearances. The charity work he does and the fact he has been married to the same woman for 45 years. He is by far the most normal and down to earth rock star there is. Bruce Springsteen is close second
I sat down with perhaps the most level-headed man in rock music, Jon Bon Jovi, to talk about Trump, tennis and his return to touring after an atrophying vocal chord put his career at risk.

this week's Lunch with the FT: www.ft.com/content/25f2...
Jon Bon Jovi: ‘Fame is a liar and a thief’
The rock legend on making peace with the critics, the business of running a band — and his history with Donald Trump

Odd to me. Maybe you dont like his music, and that is fine.

But he has always been a decent and good guy. Look at his not so subtle interviews plus devotion to his family and wife of 40+ yrs, his charity work, etc.

He's the most down to earth rock star there is and it isn't even close.
here's something i never thought i'd say:

hell. yeah, bon jovi

USAID, I believe is still funded, and obviously the statute that created it hasn't been revealed.

All of it is criminal.
The CFPB was created. The Trump administration is seeking to eliminate it, despite the fact that Congress has passed no law enabling it to do so.
US consumer watchdog says it is legally blocked from accessing funds reut.rs/4p5bX6x

Well if it's that tough.. redraw the map. Everyone's doing it.
November 6, 2025 at 4:21 AM
Yes.

You run in an rural district and lose but shave 5pts of the margin..that helps a dem win state wide.
I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

This is horrible news. What a legend in radio and music. I listened to his show almost every day, except for today. The city of Philadelphia will never be the same.

This is the real leader of the DC Democrats.

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social take notes on how it's done, or resign.
AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

However, they are weaker than they look…
October 1, 2025 at 12:55 AM
Maybe, but the real way out is to elect Democrats, who were 2 votes short of eliminating gerrymandering nationwide in 2022.
What Trump/Texas just did will lead to the death of representative democracy. They’ve opened the door to gerrymandering every 2yrs, b4 any election. And when that happens, Americans will no longer believe their representation is legitimate. And representative democracy will die.

Lonesome George Thorogood
I love how certain cities hold their most iconic musicians as patron saints and part of the city's identity. Minneapolis has Prince. We in Austin Have Willy. New Orleans has Dr. John.

Genuinely curious: Who is your city's musical patron saint?

It'd be nice if @bluntrochester.senate.gov or @coons.senate.gov said this.

Lisa of course is busy voting for crypto.
Chris Murphy: "We can't be preparing for the 2026 election. It might not come. All of our focus right now has to be on protecting the democracy, about stopping the corruption."

RHCP "By the way"

And the Rolling Stones, Tattoo you, or even Voodoo Lounge are better then their debut( they released alot 64-68, don't hate that the first ep wasn't that good)
here's a fun game if you're a music dork: what is the best album released by a music act at least 15 years after its debut album?

The only difference to me is you shame the "trump voters", and disassociate completely from the MAGAts.
Ppl still confusing "people who voted for Trump" and "MAGA voters."

One of the biggest splits in '24 was informed voter vs uninformed (Un), with the later going towards Trump. The Un, don't watch/read news, their info was from ads. Targeted Ads that literally lied about what Trump was planning
1/
1. Yesterday, Donald Trump announced sweeping new tariffs that the Associated Press called “a historic tax hike that could push the global order to a breaking point,” and what I want to know is this:

Why are we still wondering what Trump voters want?

He promised. He delivered. What’s the mystery?
