Did you know?
2025 was the third hottest year on record, and the last 11 years are the warmest ever. Oceans absorbed 90% of the extra heat, fueling stronger storms, heavier floods & marine die-offs.
This isn't "weather", it's our planet screaming. Time to listen.

In a sane world, this would be front page news everywhere.
But it will hardly be covered anywhere.

The North Pacific Ocean surface warmed over twice as much over the past 15 years than it did over the preceding 156 years.

That's an increase in warming rate of >2000%!

2025 was the hottest year on record for ocean heat content. Unfortunately, we now say this every year. 🥹

ocean continues to show sustained and intensified warming."

Today was our 8th record high temperature set or tied in Houston since December 20th. I believe this now ranks us as the winter with most record highs? 2016-17 was close. 2021-22 was close. But this has dethroned them. Still not quite a top 5 warm Dec 1-Jan 6, but edging closer.

Here's the 365-day running mean, showing 2025 ending at 1.47°C above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial average. The quadratic trendline says 1.52°C for 2026.

The Climate 8-Ball says "1.58°C will come this way if an El Nino doth the oceans sway." The Climate 8-Ball sucks at poetry.

Venezuela has become a more deeply repressive dictatorship & urgently needs democratic solution but this is unjustified & unjustifiable. Look forward to seeing swift UK Government condemnation.
