Not to excuse Target (because this won’t fix what pissed off their customers), but this sort of policy was absolutely standard at the K-Mart I worked in lo so many years ago.
You can see what happened to K-Mart.
You can see what happened to K-Mart.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Mamdani embodies a pro-Palestinian politics that truly distinguishes between the state of Israel and the Jewish people, and truly takes antisemitism seriously as its own problem. That makes him a threat to those who want to absolutely conflate antisemitism and anti-Zionism, whether the ADL or WoL.
The pro-Palestine group Within Our Lifetime has already decided that Zohran Mamdani has sold out the pro-Palestine cause... by condemning swastikas drawn on a Jewish day school in Brooklyn. forward.com/culture/7822...
Mamdani's first statement on antisemitism as mayor-elect got some weird pushback
After someone spraypainted a swastika on a yeshiva, Zohran Mamdani condemned antisemitism. Somehow, this generated conspiracy theories.

Getting the weekly cook on, as we won’t have a Sunday Dinner this week. First time for this recipe for Ganach Lupia, Armenian braised green beans. I used to baby sit for an Armenian family and the best part of the job was when the mom left dinner for all of us. This was a favorite of mine.

Feds say immigration enforcement might have to stop if judge intervenes at Broadview facility
The comment from a DOJ attorney followed emotional testimony from detainees and came after U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman told her, "if the conditions are unconstitutional, so be it."

From Bovino's deposition: (1) he calls protestors "violent" if they articulate views hostile to ICE, even if no violence is manifested; (2) he instructs his forces to attack and arrest protestors who express "hyperbolic comments," which is to say, criticism of ICE and Bovino.
