This is one of the things my Department Chair hates about me, my need to use the correct terminology for exactly what I mean so that I won’t be misunderstood.

My favorite grocery store often has “buy this, get that free” coupons. I don’t usually go out of my way to use them, but lately, if I need one of the items or if both are non-perishable, I’ll use the coupon and put the items in my church’s food pantry.

I have added that soup to my “to be made” list because it looked so delicious last time!

Beans came out well, and would also be good over rice.

My whole life I’ve wanted to live in the woods in the mountains, but I also remember how much I missed ethnic grocery options when I lived in Kansas.

At this point, I think we’d rent for six months before buying just in case the drive to groceries makes me sad.

I used to do red clover and fava beans in the hopes they’d make beans (nope, not in my area) for cover crops in the winter, but peanuts are my go-to for my one empty bed each summer.

I’m hoping to dry them. I’m pretty bad at remembering to hill them properly, so my yield is always poor. I mostly plant them as a nitrogen fixer in one of my raised beds each summer.

I’m skeptical of the concept of deterrence in much of the logic of criminal justice but this is one of the contexts in which I absolutely believe in it

People who would abuse their power need to have good reason to believe they’ll pay hard for it if they do
