I've got bad news for this cunt about how many Germans, Polish, Italians, Irish, Spanish, Greek and so on emigrated to the US in the hundreds of years since the Mayflower landed

I honestly don't understand how someone can say that they studied communism and socialism and not know that Stalin and Hitler took those things and corrupted them in order to propagate fascism. The men did the evil, not the concepts
Ah yes. Harvard Law School in the early 1990s, well known for its Communist professors.

I just never understood the mentality of being too stubborn to learn an unusual name properly, especially as someone with an unusual English name
"I'm half Japanese, half white, but both sides lived in Hawai’i for 3 plus generations. My name is Kau’i. It looks daunting but it’s just Ka-ooh-ee."

But when Ms White read out her name, she tripped up on the name and Kau’i corrected her pronunciation. Ms White said: "I'll call you Katherine".

By the way, for those who want to know why this denialist line is nonsense: disinfecting clothes actually requires a lot *more* Zyklon B than killing humans does - low levels of cyanide residue on the chamber walls prove that it *wasn't* being used for the former!
French authorities are taking X to court because Grok is now doing straight up holocaust denial. Gas chambers intended for disinfection, cyanide residue tiny, ‘story’ persists because of taboo against critical examination. (Full translation in alt text)

By the mere use of the word the Nazis have soiled the concept of socialism forever and tbh we're gonna have to find a different word otherwise the fight will never end

I'm sure @ollymann.bsky.social won't hear the end of this but hearing him pronounce author Hergé in the most British way possible on Answer Me This made me laugh a lot today. FYI it is 'air-jey' (soft j) and based on the Belgian pronunciation of his real initials RG. @helenzaltzman.bsky.social

Shocking that the guy behind Happy, a song so empty, vapid and soulless that it may as well have been written by AI, is not very smart
Not surprised. Pharrell has said stuff like this before with his "New Black" comments denying racism.

He said, "The New Black doesn't blame other races for our issues".

The level of ignorance and condescension to say something like this… No one has checked him on it, so he's been saying 10 years.

Holy shit lmao
This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

Hey assholes, if you're gonna have a bus platform that's a short walk and out of view of all the others, how about some visible signage? Might be an idea? Guess this is proof Luxembourg is becoming a real city lmao

History education in the UK glosses over so many things that make the country look bad. Lest we forget thousands of dorks idolize the Roman Empire without reckoning with who was cutting up and transporting all that marble
holy shit: “Among the 2,000 UK adults surveyed, 85% were unaware that Britain forcibly transported more than 3 million Africans to the Caribbean, 89% did not know that Britain enslaved people in the Caribbean for more than 300 years” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...

As someone whose mother never took my father's name and grew up with both, this verdict is the most backwards parochial nonsense I have heard in a while. If your heritage is a heritage of abuse, maybe that heritage can get fucked?
"A five-year-old girl must keep the surname of the father who raped her mother, after a High Court judge upheld a ruling that it formed a key part of the child’s identity and heritage." [Times]

All trains to Berlin Airport were cancelled around 1pm due to signal problems and some train worker tried to tell me that it was my fault for not going to the airport 4-5 hours early in anticipation of this, when all I'd asked him was 'what is the alternative route to the airport?'

The thing to remember about Sailor Moon is that very early in the comic she has a cat that bounces off her head out of nowhere one morning who then becomes her best friend and guide. This is a magic cat but it's also pretty much how you get a cat in real life generally as well.

Always love to see a Footrot Flats name drop. It's so specific to NZ but incredibly funny.
A rare interview with the creators of the always-funny, always-brilliant, and *usually*-sexy—or occasionally anti-sexy—OGLAF!

Cooper has kept a low profile over the years, but is legitimately one of the very best artists in comics today. Read OGLAF if you're old enough to drive!
Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...
