my bluesky vision is to seek, expose myself, hopefully reach out to people interested in/working on: allied health+rehab, disability politics, neurodiversity, tracing cultural psyches, educ trends, leftist-leftish takes — like Twitter criticism but playful-warm, sometimes toxic but not mean or cruel

I'll discuss very briefly here../

surely a vision board will fix climate change and get rid of the nazis. 2025 will be my year as long as i check off all of these self improvement goals. this will solve all the things.

Class consciousness requires a move away from the deficit model that blames all ills in society on inherent individual flaws.

The rationalist elite is the problem. They say the masses are irrational beasts who must be confined and controlled. You don't have to agree with them.

I PASSED THE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY LICENSURE EXAM 😭

it's been a journey, 10 years to be exact. failed 3 semesters. worked in call center before clinical internship, until covid hit. had to delay my university clearance to care for my mom with cancer. 1 full year review

Is doom scrolling really rotting our brains? The evidence is getting harder to ignore

Many have asked for my take on this. So, is it another example of "I have concluded that my gut feelings are correct and I'm cherry picking 'evidence' to support it"?

Yes, yes it is

#FunFact Autistic people live in Takiwatanga time, which among many other things means, that we often find age categorizations of mainstream culture odd and nonsensical. Autistic adults may find joy many things considered "childish" including (but not limited to) plushies, legos, stickers. 1/

If human beings can't live up to a model that claims to explain human behaviour then the target of improvement should be the model. It's clearly not accurate.

Predictability isn’t what matters, control isn’t what matters either. AUTONOMY is what matters. So to optimise environments you don’t need to focus on predictability per se but rather the person’s own ability to plan, adjust, determine what’s happening and when; just as you do when moving about.5/10

Ableism teaches us to abandon each other.

Racism will disable you.
Transphobia will disable you.
Long COVID will disable you.
Genocide will disable you.
Climate change will disable you.

Do not obey when told to abandon the vulnerable.

Resistance & communities must be rooted in disability justice.

Remember: fascism thrives on apathy.

The autocrats want you to tune out. They want to overwhelm you. They want you to give up.

Don’t give them want they want.

Stay in this fight. Remain vigilant. And let’s keep building.
