I know there's a lot going on, but occasionally it's good to remind people that billions of animals suffer in crazy conditions in factory farms. In the U.S. it's gotten worse / denser in recent yrs, contrary to popular conception.

No matter how annoying New Yorkers might be, pretending that it isn’t a special city seems weird. Every borough has a collection of large parks, so big that the famous Central and Prospect Parks aren’t even top five by size. You can also access them for free and without having to drive.

As we approach the 50% of the US egg-laying flock living outside of cruel battery cages, Bloomberg takes stock of the current state of the movement. Cage-free eggs are less cruel for hens, popular with consumers, and here to stay despite the administration's efforts to push back.
More Expensive Cage-Free Eggs Are Booming in US, Despite Trump’s Efforts
The premium-priced product is more popular than ever in the US, and there’s not much a DOJ lawsuit can do about it.

Powerful French media coverage of this week's undercover investigation released by The Humane League, We Animals, and Reporters for Animals International. Factory farming is yet another way that big corporations cut corners to maximize profits - it's time we hold them accountable.

I'm imagining ICE doing to NYC what it's doing to LA — and the people of NYC responding the way people are in LA — and it all happening under Mayor Cuomo. He'll side with ICE, DHS and, of course, the NYPD. This man, who hates the city and doesn't live here, can not become mayor. Don't rank him.

what makes NYC one of the greatest cities in the world in the same way London and mumbai are is that nothing ever fazes the people in these places. A guy dressed as a rat carrying a slice of pizza bigger than the average child? Sidestep, take the railing go about your day and never think of it again

Anyone else find it strange that a man with a 14-year heroin addiction is railing against Narcan—the lifesaving drug that helped drive a sharp drop in overdose deaths after a federal distribution program?

No one said Narcan cures addiction. It prevents funerals. That’s the point. The facts 👇🏾

An autism "registry" culled from private medical records could potentially violate federal privacy laws and runs the risk of abuse.

It also harkens back to a time when disabled people were labeled, segregated, and excluded. We won't go back.

Enough is enough.

We can not allow this obvious authoritarian power grab to continue. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to stand up for the Constitution and the American people and join the call for impeachment.
