the media can continue to try to provide cover for this nutso shit but eventually "no the United Kingdom is our enemy actually" is going to percolate out to the normies and beyond the 30% of already cooked brains that isn't going to go well

the promise of America, to Miller, is that anyone might transcend the circumstances of their ancestry to become a Nazi
Relatedly, we obtained an unpublished history of Stephen Miller's ancestors' immigration to the US, written by his grandmother. People like them were attacked in terms very similar to the ones Miller and MAGA use about today's immigrants:

US bombed Nigeria in what Trump says was an effort to protect Christians.

Violence in Nigeria is widespread, not anti-Christian specifically, and the US strikes won't accomplish anything lasting. But it appeals to his evangelical base even as he persecutes other Christians.

Opinion | The logic isn't apparent in Trump's strikes in Nigeria

there would be a lot of this sentiment should aliens ever visit Earth, from the disruption to society that would inevitably follow even if they did nothing but show themselves. and the more fundamental Copernican shock to our sense of place in the cosmos.
Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

Live sports TV is incredibly hard, but few realize it, because the pros doing it are so good. Many cameras at once, and whenever the view changes, a producer called it live.

When the US increased spy drones, they reached out to sports TV producers for advice on synthesizing multiple video streams.
The Netflix and Amazon broadcasts are a great reminder that live sports is a deeply, deeply difficult type of TV that requires huge crews of profoundly skilled and experienced people who have worked together for a long time to look natural

That last part really gets me. They tried to make Christmas into a way to say "fuck you" and then accused everyone else of disrespecting the holiday.
In retrospect the Bush-era War On Christmas stuff seems more ominous than it did at the time. It was just cable news guys crying about dumb/fake shit, then and now; I mean the campaign to turn Christmas, which most everyone likes and feels warmly about, into just another thing to get mad about.
