🧵The authoritarian Missouri GOP is at it again. The MO House is debating HJR 73, which would put abortion BACK on the ballot (with deceptive language) in an attempt to overturn Amendment 3. This egregious bill would undo the will of 1,538,659 voters. #MoLeg

NEW: Trump to USA: There is no rule of law.

Today, Trump signaled he would not abide by court decisions and return to the US a Maryland father who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador. He won't even ask El Salvador to send him back. This is cruel & dangerous.

Cannot honestly communicate the contempt I have for these people.
Jessica: When I hear Republicans out there talking about their plan for education in America, I don't hear them talking about making sure disabled kids have access to a public education.

Greg: Because we're against it.

Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"

This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

Remember how ages ago, in July, the Times ran an almost wholly speculative piece insinuating that President Biden had Parkinson’s, then memory-holed it? Well, anyway …
From STAT News. Surely there will be multiple front page NYT articles on this over next few days (tho Haberman/Swan might be saving some of it for their next Trump book):

Trump keeps losing his train of thought. Cognitive experts have theories about why

Trump keeps losing his train of thought. Cognitive experts have theories about why
Shifting from topic to topic, with few connections, is one of several disjointed and occasionally incoherent verbal habits that seem to have increased in Trump’s speech.

The special counsel found that Biden extensively cooperated with investigators, in sharp contrast to evidence that Trump resisted and misled them for months.

That's a good topic for "news analysis" pieces. Instead, it's But Her Emails redux.

Let’s give Missouri credit for trying to get one up on Texas, or DeSantis!
Missouri HB.1739 contains provisions for the immediate dismissal and 4 year suspension from employment for any nurse, teacher or social worker who calls a student a name other than that which is on their school registration forms, or fails to report a non-cis identity.

Missouri …🤦🏻‍♀️
Hard to overstate how insane, inappropriate, and anti-American it is for state attorneys general to launch harassing investigations of journalists because the attorney general heard that the journalists reported something that made a website he likes, owned by a billionaire he likes, look bad.
