For a brief time American workers had a lot of leverage over employers. That power has now evaporated.
1.59 American employee quit their job for each employee fired by their boss in Oct, lowest level since Jan 2018 outside pandemic

This #LaborLeverageRatio proxies for employee bargaining power in jobs cuz workers ⬆️ quits when their outside options improve & bosses ⬆️ firings when theirs do

Me rewatching ep 1 right now and yes, omg yes. As a lover of Romance, seeing a show where sex is doing the job it does in Romance books? Just a dream come true.
After watching the first two episodes, Heated Rivalry is actually a perfect example of how sex scenes can be used to build individual character and relationship development. In this essay I will*

The central issue in Heated Rivalry is their queerness, hidden by necessity in a sport and cultures historically hostile to anything other than the toxic masculine ideal. The show does capture the predicament that Shane and especially Ilya find themselves in.

Lolllll, a chaste kiss? I'm sorry the yearning, longing, and chemistry of these characters and actors do not lend themselves to a 'chaste kiss' at the end of the season. People fuck. Grow up.
but this? shut the fuck up. guess what, my man, gorgeous young 22 year olds like to fuck. And queer people deserve love stories that are sexy and horny. a "chaste kiss" please be for real.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

It was Miami Herald local reporter Julie Brown @jkbjournalist.bsky.social who actually covered the Epstein story and blew it wide open. She cared about the victims and Epstein's crimes, not access.
National outlets not only didn't, they refused to. They thought it was tawdry and beneath them.

The overriding image from the 2024 GOP convention is a bunch of white people holding signs reading “Mass Deportation Now.” I know that lying is just part of the gig but come on.

Justice KBJ is a brilliant strategist. She is working the rules to compel timely review of the stay in the SNAP case by both the Circuit Court and by the Supreme Court. This is why knowing which SCOTUS justice has supervision of the Circuit you file in is essential.

Just called Jon Ossoff. He needs our votes next year. Let them know what's what!
🚨🚨🚨The eight Sen Dems. according to @prospect.org who are looking to surrender to Trump:

- Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)
- Jon Ossoff (D-GA)
- Gary Peters (D-MI)
- Mark Kelly (D-AZ)
- Maggie Hassan (D-NH)
- Peter Welch (D-VT)
- Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)
- Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).

May want to call their offices.
