I'm honestly surprised that with all this renewed interest in the Wizard of Oz that nobody's tried to do a thing with Ozma recently, but I guess studios just assume mainstream audiences are only familiar with things from the 1939 movie

I got some birthday whimwhams and looking into getting some ink from one of those boutique small ink makers...

And then I went back to John Neal and picked out a couple sample bottles of the Colorverse collection because they're only 6.50 a bottle...

ICYMI: I spoke with CBS Sunday Morning about my book, There Is No Place for Us, alongside the families whose desperate efforts to secure housing the book follows—people working nonstop and still being pushed into homelessness.
When the employed are pushed into homelessness
In America we are taught hard work is the key to success. But despite having full-time jobs, many families are locked out of the rental housing market, due to low wages, soaring rents and poor credit,...

We went to a couple of little craft markets and there was someone selling rose hip jelly made from forage from the coast. I've never had it before, I'm really excited!

Penny whistle and harp music also works a treat for this.
When I worked at a bookstore, I quickly learned that people cannot tell the difference between Xmas music and any Baroque or Elizabethan music album that doesn't get too organ-ish. I used this to my advantage.

One customer caught on... AND THANKED ME
If we had to hear “Baby Shark” everywhere we went for two whole months out of the year we’d throw a fit, right?

And rightfully so.

So tell me, why do we put up with it when the song is “Frosty the Snowman”?

Thank god for this person who did all of these different color variations on green dorge (6 strand braid). I like to do the usual 3-3 or 4-1-1 variations but I'm using a small skein of hand-dyed silk from my stash on this cord.

They are so funny. Our neighbors are being stuffed into unmarked vans, and they’re all like let’s vote against a term we probably can’t define instead.
The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

86 Dems joined Republicans in supporting the measure, incl. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

It's funny how all the jobs the department of education is suddenly keen to reclassify are all mandated reporters for child abuse. It's like this administration is doing anything it can to actively hurt children at home and abroad.

No Thanksgiving plans, which I personally think is a crime considering my pie-making skills.

(Nicholas is partial to pies I'm crap at making and I'd be too tempted to eat 2/3 of it anyway.)

Roasting a whole chicken for the first time, though, which should be an adventure.

Hear, hear. I got really excited when I first heard Thomas Paine and I thought "oh shit did some of them do a more historically informed accent' and no... it's just Thomas Paine and he's Irish.

But yeah, Michigan's treasure Jeff Daniels as Southern gentry TJ...
I find it low-key funny that pretty much all the Patriot voice actors in Ken Burns' The Revolution have Midwestern accents. Like yeah no for sure we've got a good solid genetic American accent, but we aren't the only American accent, that's for sure

The watercolor art of Greg Harlin in the Ken Burns American Revolutionary docuseries is fantastic, though.

Beautiful and timeless - a perfect solution to the lack of photos that comprised so much of Burns' other documentaries. (That last painting is part of a series of stamps that GH illustrated).

I'm pleasantly surprised that Ken Burns managed to talk about THAT MUCH of the ugly side of the American Revolution (often unmentioned even in college history courses) while still securing funding from the descendant orgs. God-damn sir.
