Accidental correspondent..or something.
Been asking myself the same question.
If someone stepped in and offered to buy Twitter from Musk for cents on the dollar and he took it, is it too late now to “rescue” it as a dominant platform? Or is the brand too poisoned by Musk’s performative bigotry?

Yes. Yes, we did.
Pandering should be a disqualification from elected office but we made it a prerequisite

I watch PBS’s Nova religiously and learned last night that Oxford has developed a new vaccine for malaria that has 70-80% efficacy and it just got approved by the WHO and will save millions of lives in the years to come. Sharing some good news bc it tends to get lost out there.

feel like I would be more into democracy in general if we as species stopped electing fucking fascists

“IBM released a statement… it has “suspended all advertising on X while we investigate this entirely unacceptable situation.””

Curious to see if the other brands mentioned (Apple, Bravo, Oracle, Xfinity) follow suit 👀
As Musk endorses antisemitic conspiracy theory, X has been placing ads for Apple, Bravo, IBM, Oracle...

Amen.
Kind of wild that people often present it as inevitable that the occupation will continue to radicalize Palestinians, but act surprised that years of bombings has an analogous effect on Israelis

Good article by @brianbeutler.bsky.social on how media should cover, and Democratic politicians should highlight, Trump calling large swaths of Americans "vermin."
But calling one of the article's sections "GUNS VERMS AND STEEL" deserved a share on its own.

Funny thing is, Musk would have angered less people if he'd just said that the rate limiting was a temporary thing while he "negotiates a new cloud provider deal", instead of pretending it was some grand plan to stop web scraping.

What are you talking about? It's easier than ever to take care of that at home. All you need is a drill press and a steady hand.
Life was so much simpler when you could just get a trepanning procedure done to let the demons out.

Bingo!
The risk he flees the country are pretty small.
Then again, many Americans would be happier to see him in Russia, so perhaps “risk” isn’t the right word for it.

Real people..who have had to fish their children or significant others out of the *pokey*..want the fn mugshot.
As a former AUSA and criminal practitioner, I'm not bothered by the lack of mug shot (there are plenty of photos) or bail (recognizance bonds are the norm in federal court), but I am very concerned that Trump has not had to surrender his passport. I could see him preferring Russia to a jail cell.
