No holiday for community college culinary school: Serving and front of house for Asian themed lunch service and 45ish covers, get little break, then back in kitchen for more cooking fun and kitchen lab tonight. This menu was amazing when we did the testing.

Russ Wilson adds to his bodycount...
The Giants are firing coach Brian Daboll, sources say. A promising and frustrating season leads NYG to have an opening.

After another lead evaporated yesterday, Brian Daboll is out.

OC Mike Kafka is interim coach, per me and Mike Garafolo.

Review from Sarah Stook "The humble miniseries is one of my favourite story mediums. We’ve had hits like Chernobyl, John Adams and Dopesick among others. It’s also the best way to tell this story. A movie would have been too long and a regular series would have too much filler."

NYC is its own thing. A number of mayors thought their tenure would be a springboard to national politics. It has never worked out for them.

Lament of @conservacatgal.bsky.social "It has been my great misfortune that I was raised in the Metro Atlanta area and therefore was thrust against my will into following the Atlanta Falcons my entire life. Oh sure, we also have the Braves. And the Georgia Bulldogs...But the Falcons?"
Do I Have to Keep Rooting for this Team? - Ordinary Times
This is not about football...If only those questions weren’t a whole lot more consequential than the future of the Atlanta Falcons.

My father reports the first real snow of the season has come to Up Yonder, West Virginia, USA. 4-8 inches today, more tonight. Winter in the mountains doesn't care about your "official start of..." date

This isn't the cause, surely, but it is worth noting that when I was at @ordinarytimes.bsky.social there was a big consensus among the generation behind me that renting was the wiser fiscal move and only morons threw away money buying a home. So I'm unsure generational comparisons work that well.

Its a special breed of badass to do mine rescue work. Pray or keep a good thought for those doing super human things in the dark for the faintest of hopes because there might be a chance.

The right wing's bad faith brigades saw a photo that they wanted to believe mocked Charlie Kirk's murder. It didn't, but they didn't care, and they've done enormous damage to countless people who have no recourse. Pure scumbaggery, and standard operating procedure.
One photo, a deluge of threats: Inside the Arizona high school turned upside down by right-wing activists
A group of math teachers — some of whom were fans of Charlie Kirk — had their lives turned upside down this week over false accusations about a Halloween photo.

Dumber, encompassing more things, and with a lot more opportunity to be disproven by personal experience.

Most people have no way of personally evaluating claims of voter fraud in a distant state. They can personally evaluate things like their own energy bill or getting stuck at an airport.

Good seeing the NFL back in Germany, playing in the house that Hitler built but Jesse Owens rolled in, showed out, and made his own. His names still on it in honor, unlike the evil who thought they were better than him.

If it was a ponzi scheme, what would be different...
ICYMI: Microsoft’s charge “implies a more than $12 billion quarterly loss at OpenAI, said Firoz Valliji, an analyst at Bernstein.”

That “would mark one of the largest single-quarter losses for a tech company in history.”
