So one of the things that I think is lost on AI proponents is what I call the card catalog effect, a thing I shouldn’t call it because a lot of people probably have no experience with a card catalog.

Yes, this. I’ve been thinking a lot about how just reacting plays into their game.
What if they did everything they could to turn us against each other, to live in fear…and we calmly cared for each other and shared joy?
It would not only be more fun…it would make them SOOOOO mad!
Makes me giggle.

This is the problem with not being able to prove a negative. “Stop doing that thing you’re not doing! Right now!” is a hard argument to fight.

With the snow and ice, I couldn't get my car out of the driveway last night. I tried everything for traction: pieces of cardboard, cat litter, sand. In the end, what worked best was disengaging the emergency brake.
