In the 1980s, Denise Matyka and Nicole Gotthelf took bold action to ensure social justice nonprofits had access to workplace giving—helping form what we now know as Community Shares of Wisconsin. That courage opened doors and built a movement that distributes over $1 million annually.

Mark E. Saunders, a longtime donor to Community Shares of Wisconsin, passed away in early 2025. He had served as a volunteer organizer for our golf outing 25 years ago and had continued his support ever since, even naming us as a beneficiary in his will.
