Just one more lane right?
Good thing the new Dunkettle works solved traffic. What If they just built a bus lane to and from the City instead?

Ireland has "41 per cent fewer trains, roads and other transport infrastructure per capita than high-income European countries" says Collison rather confusingly, before going on to urge construction of roads, roads and more roads.
Yes, John, that will definitely work.

Dear Urban Land Institute members,
Welcome to #SanFrancisco. Let me apologize in advance for the lack of ample free parking. But now that we've removed all our minimum parking regulations, we hope you will enjoy the flowers instead.

How about Jim O' Callaghan and all govt TDs/bodies/orgs get off X.
Start with that. Like that would be one easy and simple step that would have instant effect.

The funny thing about Galway's train station redevelopment is how it's Galway where it rains so much but the roof will not even cover half of the length of the platforms...

The big difference between Trump's first term and second is that he didn't burn down a strong economy with tariffs last time around. It's a lot easier for voters to overlook his bigoted nonsense and authoritarian bluster when they feel good about material conditions.

A mustard read!
"They want everyone to know these thugs they’ve deployed to terrorize cities are battle-hardened and impervious to pain. But in court, they're such delicate flowers that if they are, say, lightly grazed by a sandwich, they are entitled to justice because of the horrific assault they have suffered."

However, this must come with double tracking, line speed upgrades, and partial electrification. Otherwise we will end up in a similar situation to our Limerick service, packed to the gills and fighting for seats.

Why not do the same for motor vehicles?
New legislation in the City Council — @cmcrystalhudson.bsky.social's Ride Safe, Ride Right bill — would end the sale of the fastest e-bikes to ensure everyone is riding at a safe speed. This is a point-of-sale restriction, so enforcement happens before a rider even visits the store.

Reducing car use in urban areas is a "very significant road safety tool", while pedestrian priority has "very significant potential" for safety in our villages, towns, and cities, according to TU Dublin researchers in work which was funded by the Road Safety Authority. Researchers from TU Dublin examined the outcomes of traffic changes in Oslo in Norway, smaller urban areas in the Pontevedra region in Spain, Brussels, and Ghent in Belgium.

It's amazing how much of a difference the congestion charge in Oxford has made. The roads are much quieter, it's so easy driving around the city centre now and being able to keep to time. My job has become less stressful.
