My thing with the art censorship situation is that it all needs to be able to exist. Especially the weirdo fucked up stuff that's horrible and makes you feel bad. Even the daft edgy shit you don't feel has a purpose. I trust no one to decide which art is morally ok! Certainly not corporations!

Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

I hope people understand that if Trump gets his way America will soon be part of the global axis of evil if we aren't already. You see it in the Caribbean, you see it in Ukraine, and you see it with Trump trying to buddy up to Xi. We are a malevolent force.

There is something really wrong with people who need workers to be not just competent, but slavishly fake-happy. "Slavishly" used on purpose, bc that's where this grotesquerie comes from.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

the symbolism of “Trump destroying the White House for a overpriced luxury vanity project, during a government shut down, days after a historically-large mass demonstration against his regime called “No Kings”’ would be rightly viewed as laying it on a little thick if it was in a work of fiction

"User-hostile design" isn't just ads and hard-to-find cancel buttons.

App devs have learned they don't profit from adding features users say they want—they make money by analyzing usage patterns, then adding features to maximize "engagement" (YOUR time/energy spent in the app). That's user-hostile.

This is why it's crucial that Bluesky, a for-profit company, upholds user control as a core philosophy of the service. When growth stagnates, they will face a lot of pressure to keep growing, to retain users. The board must choose, repeatedly, to leave money on the table in favor of public benefit.

like. *hate* art. deeply.

The scam is to conflate everything that computers do (or ever have done) with the current "AI" craze, so that the AI scam tech that nobody wants feels inevitable, rather than a tech bubble run by villains, that needs to crash immediately.

Death Stranding tip: if you're bringing a bunch of deliveries to a single place, don't turn them all in at once. You can't gain more than one star at a time, so you might end up getting less total credit than everything is worth. Just turn half of the deliveries in, then the other half.
