Seconding that The Hundred Line is one of the coolest, most interesting games this year. A sprawling, heartfelt tribute to the entire visual novel *medium*.
The tactical combat stuff is mostly just punctuation, but in response to criticism it was too easy, they even added a wild instagib Hard Mode.

Finally, The Kotaku Review for Hundred Line. I spent much of it reflecting on how its incredible ambition makes it nearly impossible to recommend without caveats. But it's one of the most important games of 2025, and a testament to the power of making something for yourself without compromise.
