Not for nothing, but McCarthy had been a relatively obscure senator, not the President of the United States with a compliant Congress and SCOTUS and McCarthyism STILL lasted four years and ruined many lives. Fevers break, sure, but sometimes only because the patient is dead.
A fun fact about McCarthyism is that just two and a half years after he was condemned and censured, Sen. Joseph McCarthy drank himself to death at 48.

It’s not deportation if the person is a citizen. It’s human trafficking or sending a citizen into exile. It’s cruel and illegal. Again, one person loses due process, we all lose it.
