Als de VVD D66 kan dwingen tot een coalitie met JA21 zie ik geen reden waarom D66 de VVD niet nog beter kan dwingen tot een coalitie met GroenLinks-PvdA.

A better phrase would be “no longer evitable”.

Nothing stopped us other than our own stubbornness. But staying below 1.5 is now infeasible.

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important
⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.

Nothing highlights the hypocrisy of the MAGAs as clearly as the fact they're upset that people are simply posting direct quotes from Charlie Kirk to show the kind of person he was.

A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class.

This is Kirk's legacy.

You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.

As someone who has been in near complete isolation since the pandemic began, this hits real close to home

I saw almost everyone I knew, everyone I thought cared to do the right thing, give up on simple precautions to keep people safe

Now I don't feel safe around anyone
We got left behind 😞
I still remember the camaraderie of the early days of Covid.

For a moment it felt like we were going to put aside rugged individualism & embrace a future that was more community minded.

It felt like disabled people might get a real seat at the table.

That hope being ripped away still hurts.

I think most people (myself included) don’t have an intuition for orders of magnitude (e.g., the difference between millionaire and billionaire).

One way to appreciate this is time, since we all experience it. Here's the difference between a thousand, a million, and a billion seconds.

There are only three political positions in America today

1) I like the fascism

2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc)

3) I oppose the fascism

The rest is details
