I don’t think she’s been forgotten, but all the fiction of Lois McMaster Bujold, especially the Vorkosigan saga—all of it should be way, way more famous, in my opinion. She’s one of my favorite novelists, full stop. I would die of delight if smart creative folks made a good Vorkosigan TV series.
There are many writers of quality SFF - especially women - who never became celebrities and whose work imo far outstrips Gaiman's. And, yes, many - especially women - have been forgotten.
No, Gaiman didn't plagiarize Tanith Lee (I have a bunch of Lee first editions, I interviewed her once, I know her work). There are a bunch of writers who did gods stuff before him (Adams, Leiber) BUT it does show something I've noticed that a lot of writers from the 80s and 70s have been forgotten-

This is an easy resolution to make & fulfill: never buy a book from Amazon again. Ideally never shop there at all, but at the very least do not permit them to carry out their 30-year mission to destroy the bookselling business. Shop local or online at bookshop.org. It's just as easy & so important.
