there are a lot of poeple who believe the dems are in charge even when they're not in charge
Every day it becomes harder for my trans friends to get the care they need explicitly because Dems did jack shit while in office and now Republicans are free to push all the anti-trans laws they want, so don't fucking tell me that "democrats have done a lot actually," because they've done *nothing.*

Ellis repeatedly accuses multiple CBP and ICE officials of lying (under oath) and says their "widespread misrepresentations call into question everything" they "say they are doing in their characterization of what is happening." She broadly discredits their testimony as objectively false.
U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis just handed down the written opinion version of her preliminary injunction order, regarding use of force by federal agents in Chicago.

It's the one already put on hold by the 7th Circuit.

It's 233 pages.

FOX NEWS POLL: “.. 76% of voters view the economy negatively. That’s worse than .. the 70% who said the same at the end of former President Biden’s term.”

Kind of weird to think about but im guessing the two directions society can go are either just psychologically coming to terms with this as a private use or becoming a highly sexually repressive state
This is a nuts story. An AI chatbot and image platform left millions of images exposed. They show what people are actually using the AI for: taking random women's yearbook, graduation, and social media photos and making super realistic hardcore porn with them

Trump is now turning his attention to Sudan. We’ll see if the warring factions there want to play his games.

it is kinda astounding im much tamer on my semi-anon account as a middling bureaucrat than these guys are as top brass

“.. Trump’s sexist comments are an attack on women’s dignity — and by making them, he strips the presidency of its dignity too.”

A guy makes ONE tiny mistake (has a years-long friendship with the world's worst sex trafficker; brags about sexually harassing colleagues; is racist; says women are stupid) and his whole LIFE is blown up (does slightly fewer speaking engagements; keeps teaching at #1 university)??!?!?!?!?!
So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

it didn't even really provide me with any new information but that one email between epstein and some other random rich elite saying "when will the madness end" about the metoo movement felt like a key unlocking my brain that will explain every unforced institutional capitulation we've seen

My guess is the people waiting until the last day to drop their votes in the mail are disproportionately Republican
Nearly 104,000 mail-in ballots were rejected in 2024 because they arrived too late. A new USPS policy initiated under Trump’s first Postmaster General could lead to millions more being rejected in 2026 — and it’s Trump’s rural voters who’ll be impacted. https://bit.ly/42X5dPD

People getting mad here about anyone saying it's good that MTG and Trump are fighting. I teach democratization every semester. The first slide says 'elite fracture.' That's always where it starts. It's good when people with bad politics are fighting one another.
I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win
BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.
