We have to slam the Republican phone lines. We keep yelling at Dems, but they’re hamstrung either by belief or actual limitations. If we flood the republican offices with calls - and i mean a sustained jamming of the lines - they may start to get a picture of how unpopular this all is.

3/ Trump is bragging that border crossing and immigration in general has plummeted just in the last couple months. But that's actually super bad for the health and resilience of the economy.

The truly terrifying part is this is the risk you’d face in “normal” times being held in custody.

Under the Trump regime I can’t even imagine what these numbers would actually look like.
In 2022 (the most recent year for which we have comprehensive data), 52 people—an average of one per week—perished in Customs and Border Protection custody. How many immigrants will die under the second Trump Administration?
How Many Immigrants Will Die in U.S. Custody?
More detentions will lead to more deaths, but the Trump Administration has options to conceal the losses.

In response to what Schumer is saying on TV:
A: The government is ALREADY SHUT DOWN. They’ve been shutting it down since Jan 20, for black people. Perhaps Chuck could acknowledge that??
B: They already have the reins of power. Chuck wants it open so he can continue playing pretend!

Democrats are not capable of being an opposition party. They like rules and working the levers of government.

Put the progressive caucus out front and let them lead. The progressives thrive on opposition.

They know how to fight an oligarchy. They were politically born for this moment.
