Rewatching the first Poker Face series with youngest on the weekend and how did I miss that Charlie takes the surname of the oil magnate when she goes on the run (and they’ve carefully not said what her real surname is)?

Magazine type-in pages were how I got paid for my first ever bit of “software” aged 12. Thank you @mattround.com for reviving this lost format.
🚀 NEW MAGAZINE ⌨️
Back in the ’80s there were printed mags of BASIC programs to type in, we’ve brought that back but for web pages!
10 amazing games, toys, puzzles and utilities, no coding knowledge needed

DOCTYPE magazine 🚀⌨️
’80s BASIC type-in mags are back, but this time for HTML!

Remember, when journalists just let trans people live their lives in peace, it’s “ideological capture”, but when they use their own personal anti-trans beliefs to lead a campaign to close down the only place in the country trans youth received healthcare, it’s absolutely fine, nothing to see here.

Crikey. I thought it was bad when a fox stole one of my shoes and left it in the middle of the road
Jesus fucken Christ. I ordered some undercrackers, lads. Nothing came. No despatch email, no delivery confirmation, nothing.

So today I check tracking online. Evri "delivered" them to my side garden (just chucked randomly).

AND THEN THE FOXES

Taking some photos of youngest’s origami earrings for an upcoming makers fair. Super hard to do with crappy lighting.

Birthday card from my aunt in the us apologising for it being late because she’d had an operation and couldn’t drive for a while. Took me a few seconds to work that one out. Car dependency sucks

interestingly someone just favourited this and so I went back to have a look at what ChatGPT can do now with a loose-but-directed prompt for an episode of ZR (which my writing team could work with easily)

nope. can't do it. not even close. it can't do eg consistent characterisation.
I never had a problem with fans uploading eg whole seasons worth of scripts (which they meticulously typed up) for Zombies, Run! my game what has 10 million players.

But now, ChatGPT can do an OK impression of my "style" and I think I'm 18 months away from it being able to do full knock-offs.

Okay, so this year's John Lewis Christmas ad featured beautiful audio description for blind and partially sighted people.

And we fully believe this masterpiece of an edit from @bagpuss.org deserves the same treatment.

Enjoy?

Any software that has notification bubbles somewhere needs to have a button that resets the count to zero.

Don’t care that I have something unread. I’m not going to track it down. Just zero the frigging count.

(Rant inspired by teams insisting I have 4 unread things that it won’t show me)
