Queer, autistic, crafty, pagan. Would probably prefer to be asleep at any given time. She/any
i have written a northern history and culture pub quiz which is going to debut at sheffield transformed at the end of the month. i am doing a play testing of it tomorrow (18 nov) night at 7pm on zoom so that i can get some feedback on it. if you'd like to participate, send me a message

as a very sociaily-twitchy autistic person, i really appreciated this thought. be yourself, your true self, and those who love you for it are the ones you want to spend time with anyway. those who aren't interested aren't worth your time
seeking a partner by toning down your eccentricities to become more palatable is a coward's approach. you must make yourself worse & stranger to drive away the weak, the romantic version of bequeathing your haunted mansion to whoever dares spend a night within its walls.

Saw two little dogs with poppies on today, and I'm very excited that this now opens up the possibility of people being mad at all the dogs who aren't wearing poppies.

i am once again cursing that stupid person who told their friend or relative or whatever who was an mp that he shouldn't go to the state opening of parliament that night, leading to the foiling of the gunpowder plot. 420 years later and we still have to suffer for his incompetence

took the teenager shopping for their party later. had to pop into the party & costume shop opposite one of the uni campuses. they were on a one in, one out policy it was so busy

also, the level of racism and transphobia in some of their costumes was genuinely sickening. i don't understand people

This is now reminding me of the time that my aunt’s friends got a magnetic catflap - which could only be opened by the magnet on their cat’s collar - and kept finding their cat stuck to the fridge.
The thing I like particularly about the fact that Isaac Newton invented the catflap is it gives the image of him trying to lay the foundations of classical mechanics but getting distracted by having to let a cat out then in again 40 seconds later and thinking, “Shit, I really need to sort this.”

i... i have questions.
Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's donkeys carrying lambs up the Italian Alps in special pouches.

have had a lovely day wandering around edinburgh's art galleries. spent far too much money on books.

edinburgh certainly has some interesting opinions on what you can do with a pavement though. apparently it can just end in some steps with no warning? not great for mobility scooters, i can tell you

this is about my skill level of make up too
Goddamn I’m bad at eyeshadow. “I want to look like a sultry femme.” Heard. coming right up, one raccoon who died of sleep deprivation.

"We should instead assume we’ll win and plan for how to get there."
fuck me, if that isn't the perfect way to put it i don't know what is
Co-signed. There’s no point planning to not win, because if that happens, it’ll make our plans irrelevant. We should instead assume we’ll win and plan for how to get there.
Black and Indigenous people have been fighting for CENTURIES without giving up. My Jewish ancestors didn't give up through CENTURIES of oppression and pogroms.

And even if we're doomed, you'll forgive me if I put up a fight anyway.

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

one teacher complained about how after ww2 the country voted labour when it was the conservatives who had won the war and the country should have shown some gratitude
One teacher told us “apartheid was good for S Africa;” another lectured that FDR “ruined the country” by making Americans “lazy;” yet another wld force us to watch Alan Greenspan lectures and preface them by saying “now that’s a smart Jew” (the teacher ofc was not Jewish)

my nan used to make me flake sandwiches. yes, the chocolate. white bread, real butter (because poor people eat margarine) and those half size flakes you can buy in boxes to put in ice cream. actually worked really well. think my mum almost died when she found out about it
My mum used to make me and my brother sandwiches made with sliced white (obvs) that contained margarine and either peanut butter or marmite AND either cucumber or tomato. The combos were excellent. I still make the combos now. About to smash a PB n tomato sandwich for lunch rn in fact.
