The extremely rich have taken advantage of the poor throughout history. I would suggest that they should not be allowed to do so now.

One of my most favourite glass vessels: A marvellous Roman vessel in the form of a pig, made of blue glass. It was used to hold ointment or perfume.
Found in a burial in Cologne. Dating late 2nd/early 3rd century AD

A former UK prime minister held responsible for tens of thousands of deaths while the US president calls for elected politicians to be hanged.

A jolt of a reminder that law and policy are ultimately about life and death.

And politicians are often not up to dealing with such things.

Nigel Farage is, and always was, far right, from his schooldays. The squeamishness about calling him out is one of the reasons we’re in such a terrible state today.
A lot of sensible people get squeamish at labelling Nigel Farage “far-right”, but his policy of cancelling the legal status of tens of thousands of settled immigrants can not be politically described as anything else.

Reform are campaigning on a policy of cruelty & xenophobia.

Voters who have deserted Labour since the election are much more likely to vote Green or Lib Dems, than Reform, new YouGov polling finds.

Green and Lib Dem defectors are also much more likely to consider switching back than Reform voters who overwhelmingly say they're committed to Farage's party

I keep hearing politician say that the disability benefits system ‘isn’t working’.

Isn’t it? That depends on how you define ‘working’. Do you define it as ‘is it helping disabled people’ rather than ‘is it costing the government too much money’ you’ll get quite different answers.

NEW: Labour's planned disability benefit cuts could affect the majority of current working-age claimants with ischaemic heart disease, inflammatory arthritis, hip and knee disorders and Crohn’s disease, according to analysis of new DWP data

By me, for the Big Issue:

Majority of PIP claimants with heart disease, arthritis and Crohn's at risk of cuts
DWP data obtained by Big Issue shows that the majority of people with heart failure, HIV and arthritis are at risk of losing their benefits.
