**If there's anyone out there who would record this meeting on Wednesday, I'll be happy to do the transcription & publish it.** I really wanted to be there but am out of town.

I believe this meeting will explain current homestay & short-term rental regulations & explain upcoming enforcement.. 1/2
Charlottesville is holding a public meeting about Homestays on Wednesday December 3 from 5-7pm at City Space.

I once asked a Russian what the feeling was in Russia about her government.

Her answer wasn't anger; it was apathy.
Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

everything is political.
Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

More than Amazon, Target, and Home Depot... boycott all corporations run by billionaires. And even after this special holiday weekend action, keep your money local.
This holiday season, we’re saying it loud and clear: We Ain’t Buying It.

For too long, corporations have profited off of us. From Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, we’re taking action with our wallets to demand accountability.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

it’s very funny the James Bond writers are having trouble with explaining how he came back from the dead and not like “what is the deal with this elderly man who’s had a dozen different faces over the years”

What the proponents of Pollingism simply cannot understand is that the purpose of politics is to enact an agenda, not simply to win for the sake of doing so.

VA has come a longgg way!

Sorry you feel like you're screaming into the void. Egregious election losses due to GOP & corporate pillaging during the campaigns have beaten us down. So the fact that Mamdani, unlike his predecessors, refused PAC money & energized a base of volunteers who helped elect him, is delightful to us.

We want to know. The failure of consequences over the years is how we got here politically as well.

@piperformissouri.bsky.social comes to mind. A powerhouse of energy and encouragement to break through what *have been* GOP strongholds in the middle of the country..
progressives in deep red states and the rural districts of blue states work harder than anyone for the things progressives claim to care about yet folks in blue bastions will casually “joke” about carving those regions out of the country, which is shameful as well as self-defeating. let’s stop that!

I'm so proud that Ernie Reed won a 3rd 4-year term on the Nelson County Board of Supervisors. The only Dem in leadership in the county, he left nothing on the field and reached out to *all* his constituents, Dem or GOP, in the Central District. Also, I'm glad I married that guy.

Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer should resign their leadership positions as soon as possible.

Their failure to so much as endorse Mamdani laid bare layers of incompetence. They are why Democrats have completely failed to combat Trump. The sooner they are replaced, the better.

I was happy to get this help via Zoom recently and will save $ next year with a better plan!
Last year, out of 3,000 local residents who asked JABA to review their Medicare coverage, about half ended up changing a plan, saving about $4 million total, said Randy Rodgers, manager of the Insurance Counseling Program. Here's how you can get help, too:

Half of the local participants who reviewed their coverage through the Jefferson Area Board for Aging last year switched to more affordable plans.

Crozet folks: we have Grace Grocery and the Crozet Cares Closet (hygiene/personal items). Spread the word!
Please donate to food banks but also consider finding out if you have a little free pantry around you; they sometimes get to people who won’t visit food banks. If they take non-food items, things food banks don’t provide like baby wipes/diapers, menstrual products, and packages of socks go quickly
