The underlying theme:

Crimes of white people don’t count because they are white and the law is written to protect, not curtail them.
The GOP screaming about how being undocumented is a crime(I know it’s not) and therefore they deserve whatever happens to them with ICE but they *literally* elected a felon to be president. That’s got to be the most hypocritical thing that’s ever happened in history

wait, I saw 'peril' earlier and just assumed 'oh bc they knew this was behavior that could get them in trouble'

now that I see 'born in China' I'm like, bitch, did they mean YELLOW PERIL oh my God?
The Harvard Crimson has ID'ed and published the name of a well-known economist who was the subject of emails between Larry Summers and Epstein.

Born in China, she did her B.A. – Ph.D. at Harvard.

The code name that Summers and Epstein used in their emails about her was "peril." What a vile pig.
As Summers Sought Clandestine Relationship With Woman He Called a Mentee, Epstein Was His ‘Wing Man’ | News | The Harvard Crimson
When former Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers was pursuing a romantic relationship with a woman he described as a mentee, he turned to a longtime associate for guidance: convicted sex offender Jef...

The central problem that emerged in Episode 1 of Ken Burns's new documentary about the American Revolution is that while he wants to integrate a wide range of voices and the historians responsible for this broader perspective, he refuses to allow it to disrupt a traditional and familiar narrative. 🗃️

Could argue the misogyny Summers expressed both publicly while president of Harvard and in emails to Epstein says more about the culture at our most elite institutions than any of the frontpage freakouts over academia in the past few years but hey

i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!
