Hello to all the new people. 👋
People listing their favorite teams again. /takes a deep breath/ ok here we go: I watch mlb but don’t have any favorite teams. I just watch whatever game seems good, has players I like, and I root for no one. I don’t care who wins it loses (seriously). I love chaos, and ✨might be good at jinxing✨

Hiking on a fall day, just after a rain, wearing shoes that were not quite hiking boots. We were going downhill, I slipped on some leaves. Bc of the steep grade of the slope I fell backward but the hill bounced me right back up like one of those bozo the clown punching bags and I just kept walking.
had an awful day. please reply with your favorite memory someone that totally ate shit in a physical way that isn’t a total bummer

I downloaded an app that would tell me if I can see the northern lights and deleted it bc every night was the same: nah, nope, no deal, sorry Kat but no.

I hate the offseason
Looks like the Justin Crawford era will indeed begin this spring as the Nick Castellanos era concludes. From Matt Gelb’s latest

Remember when Joe Maddon shaved his hair into a rally haircut and the team didn't get to see it bc he got fired. I can't imagine opening my door to my boss and being like “like my new mohawk I got to rally the team” and my boss is like “looks great, you're fired”

I love this for all the life-long Joe Maddon haters (me)

The rhetoric has been about training students for the economy of tomorrow. Yet when employers always, *always*, year after year, say they want their workers trained in the skills that Humanities and Social Sciences teach, somehow that never turns into more investment in those programs.
From today's Chronicle of Higher Ed briefing. I am *never* an advocate of cutting programs. But I am curious to see if there will be the same type of "students aren't majoring in this, so let's cut the program" discourse around computer science as there always is for the arts and humanities.

There are so many bugs. So many.
You can always tell when folks who didn't grow up in nature are getting into a mystical nature kick because they talk about forests like they're these serene, perfect, peaceful places. No friend, nature is scary and tense as fuck and you're looking at a place where things live and die BY THE MINUTE.

The real James is the Bonds we made along the way
November 11, 2025 at 4:11 PM
It's fiction. You can do whatever you want.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

What was I doing three months ago that I missed this story??? I don't even know where to start. Could be the drugs, could be CTE, or an AI bot, or some nice lady from Ohio who is just shy, but it's definitely an AI bot.
