The way Parker laid this timeline out—it’s so clear what has been ramping up, even if some of these appeared to be isolated events at the time.

Does anyone else remember "Ruby, Galactic Gumshoe", from the mid 1990s?

One of the very first internet specific audio long-form stories.... and I just found the files in my archive! So much fun with simple story telling and special effects. Kapow!

Following this rabbit:

I'm an entrepreneur. I've started a handful of medical and manufacturing companies. Wheee. No, you haven't heard of any of them. No, they aren't on the stock market. No, I don't have a yacht.
Nothing more embarrassing than telling someone you are a writer. Every potential follow up question they have is a humiliation ritual. Then you find yourself in a position of trying to convince some random person you're "a real writer" but without coming off like a braggart. Don't recommend it!
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Great campfire dessert: One box Jiffy cornbread, one half size jar of crushed pineapple.

1) Get pan hot and then smear it with some grease.
2) Mix cornbread and pineapple. Add a bit of water if needed.
3) Pour into hot pan, put lid on it.
4) Place pan in the ashes where it is hot.
5) Wait a bit.
DISAGREE. Not all cornbreads are sweet, but cornbreads can be sweet! That said, I'm here for someone attempting a corncake (separate from corn cakes, which are basically corn pancakes).

Also do not neglect spoon cornbread, which is not a carb-slab (unless one has a very large spatula to lay it on).
Realtalk:

Cornbread should not be sweet! If you want cake, eat cake. Cornbread is a carb-slab meant to be paired with stronger flavors like buttermilk or greens fried in grease.

Do you know your EXPOSOME? I attempted a demystification explainer on the different kinds of exposures and influences on health and immune function at youtu.be/GAgbDPcRmA4?...

There might be some mention of guillotines.

One of the several fronts in play...
A more plausible domestic politics rationale for the US attacking Venezuela than anything about suspending elections (which aren't run federally anyway).
Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

Down here in Georgia, the spoiled white male child of privilege has decided that it wouldn't be fair to take another spoiled white male child of privilege to the courts to see if said orange fuck attempted to interfere in our elections.

Anyway, since there are no laws, why are we paying taxes?

The purpose of DOGE was to exfiltrate the private data of hundreds of millions of Americans to Palantir's servers
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail
DOGE 'doesn't exist' with eight months left on its charter
U.S. President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency has disbanded with eight months left to its mandate.

I have to smuggle my black pudding home from Scotland and then ration it.
It gave us Black pudding which is one of my favorite foods on EARTH

also tablet fudge is my jammy jam and I love it
Shoutout to Scotland's food. Deep fry everything or mash it up and stuff it inside another organ from that animal.

We were at the holiday light show in the ATL Botanical Gardens. It's wonderful! Wins awards. Just go!

Some chika bumps into me from the side, and I turn to look. She recoils, literally, saying, "What an evil look you have."

I don't understand the Waterpick (R) alternative to dental floss. My dentist and I were discussing today and I asked: "How do you Waterpick while sitting on the toilet?"

She laughed hard, so I explained: "I'm very efficient w/ my multitasking, damnit."

She said, "At least you are flossing."

To recap: My law firm represented Black and Latino voters in striking down Texas' new congressional map.

The dissenting opinion mentions George Soros 17 times and me and my law firm 3 times (all about how connected to Soros I allegedly am). I have never seen anything like it.

Good prep for what the "epstein files" will look like.

Anyway, 1,400 pages of emails w/ Elon Stank? WHAT in the fuck, actually.

And then another lawsuit to require them to show half of the consonants and a charge to pick a vowel...

Fucking crooked top to bottom, this country.
Page after page after page was redacted. #foia
We got our decision in August.

The AG said Abbott's office must release some emails with Musk. About a month later, we got nearly 1,400 pages of emails.

I was stoked. Until I took a look at the records. They were almost completely redacted. www.kut.org/politics/202... #txlege #FOIA

Juicero!

If I hadn’t been there to see it — it was being demoed at a conference I attended — I would have thought it was something Mike Judge invented for “Silicon Valley.”

I'm not sure if I'm officially old, but this month is the 61'st pass around the sun. I still do my stretches, 30 pushups and squats, general resistance and some time on the rower. I do old ballet exercises.

But I got my ass kicked today doing the Official Fall Pre-Holiday House Deep Clean. Damn.

Is that the evaded taxes under the current system? I mean, seriously, just doing some math, if they picked up over half a trillion last year in wealth (which is instantly the same as income in that regime) wouldn't it be more like $250 billion? Shouldn't it be more like $500 billion?
Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Uh, places with more people have more foreclosures? Except Texas which is bloody weird, you can't get flood insurance there.
Foreclosures are now up 20% from last year as Americans struggle to pay mortgages and rising costs.

Meanwhile… the U.S. now has a record $13.1 trillion in mortgages.

A wave of foreclosures and evictions approaching.

Here are the US States with the highest foreclosures. What do yo notice?

This is a hard one, yes. Whom else would everyone trust to fairly roll out the Epstein data dump?

Dolly, fo sho.

... can't even call on the Pope.
This is actually a completely reasonable question.

As I do not feel like being reasonable, I am answering: Dolly Parton.

I am having a hard time coming up with another person almost everyone would agree would not selectively edit the names.
This may be a dumb, obvious question, but should Congress prevail in demanding the release of Epstein investigation materials, who would facilitate that and how do we know they could be trusted to not selectively edit?
