I shouldn’t *know* the scores of certain games before reviews are even out, but there’s an enforced belief that some series/studios are so inherently good they deserve automatic praise.

I don’t blame any critic who pulls a few punches to avoid the mob. I’d be shocked if it doesn’t happen - it’s a trivial thing to do compared to threats from unhinged people.
