UPDATE: This actually wasn't HBO Max's fault.

Source tells me incorrect files were delivered to HBO Max. Lionsgate is working on getting them the right files now and those corrected files will be posted as soon as possible.

The Mad Men Rollout on HBO Max Might Make Fans Vomit
Thanks to a screwup in the file transfers, the show’s 4K release is riddled with errors.

My questions about this as the morning progresses:

1) Who will be the first to find the vomit hose guy for an interview?

2) Who will be the person who finds the body of the person who approved the 4K restorations after Matthew Weiner murders them?
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

Trying to guess how this happened…back when we shot TV on film we would have to deliver negative cut lists even though we didn’t finish on film. So maybe this episode didn’t have the final VFX in that list? And no one checked their work after they rescanned the neg for 4K?

I love this gesture so much that I will accept the wasteful mailing of this standard def DVD even though I would never do this film the injustice of watching it that way. Bravo Joachim Trier.

🧵!
One unacknowledged story of this fall's awful box office might be that every star seems to have decided to do their "This one's for me" movie at the same time. There is, honestly, no universe or financial environment in which Die My Love--one among many examples--would ever have made real money. >

I gotta give it up to the writers tho. If NYC elects a Muslim mayor on the day Dick Cheney died, that is one hell of a slow played story arc. Every time you want to fire 2025's writers room they give you a little narrative resolution as a treat.

We need to start a movement that insists on skipping shows entirely if the first episode starts with something exciting and confusing and then jumps back in time to explain how we ended up in this situation. The networks are going to keep insisting on it until viewers make them stop.

Enough enough enough of the “you’re probably wondering how I ended up here” structure!
It will shock you to learn that I'm watching a streaming drama that begins with a tense sequence about a crime, then jumps back a month to less exciting times in the hero's life.

I hope you'll all check out SIRENS, streaming now on Netflix! We had a blast making this show (I cut episodes 1 and 4) and we aimed to make it as funny as it is emotional - it was a tonal tightrope, but I think we figured it out? At any rate, I hope you like it as much as Ben Travers did...
