Oh, and once I saw a blimp.
Have now discovered that the stupid CPAP thing doesn't just make mr sleep better, I am now incapable of sleeping without it. So that's great. Love to be unable to do something babies do. Might as well get the fucking adult nappies now. Why the fuck not?

Everyone thinks [redacted] is a faithful because they'd never murder their friend...they didn't murder their friend? Their friend is in a nice hotel with room service and Netflix? #CelebrityTraitors

Celebrity Traitors must cost a fortune to make. They have to pay 20 celebrities, and Winkleman earns more than all the others combined.

We don't need to eliminate people from history like Marino Faliero.

Watching Celebrity Traitors and disappointed to see it's not about Anthony Blunt.

This is probably close to the mark. It *could* happen in theory, in practice it won't because it's not 1975 anymore. (The senate was bad then and still bad)
Today's blog post is inspired by the discussion this week of the 1975 Dismissal. It looks at how Senate majorities have changed since federation, and the role of electoral systems in shaping them. I also put a case that it's multi-party politics that protects us from a repeat of 1975 #auspol
How the Senate has changed since 1975
There has been a great deal of focus this week on the events of the Dismissal of Gough Whitlam’s Labor government, fifty years ago last Tuesday. I have been particularly drawn to examining ho…

The Liberal Party would never win power with policies that the left hate. They've never won an election by campaigning from the right before, or with a leader people didn't like. Could never possibly happen.
"The Coalition would repeal Australia’s near and long-term climate targets from legislation if and when it returns to government."

I don't see how going to the next election with this policy can possibly win them government.

Deeply weird to expect the conservatives who don't care about the environment to suddenly care about it tbh.
November 12, 2025 at 10:21 PM
I cannot stress enough how deeply weird it is to care who the ACT Liberal leader is.
#BREAKING 🚨 Canberra Liberals leader Leanne Castley and deputy leader Jeremy Hanson have announced they have both resigned "to give the party the best possible chance of success in 2028"

"We will not be commenting publicly on the circumstances that have led to this decision"

Hey Cuomo. Eat, and I cannot stress this enough, shit.

A hell of a take to posit that the people who decide what things cost aren't to blame for them costing too much.
FYI, I've fleshed out some recent comments on Tesco bashing into a blog... 🤔✍️

'Populism' means 'belief in the power of and support for the needs of people'. The term has been co-opted by the press to mean 'doesn't approach politics as an intellectual exercise.' Anyone who proposes actual solutions is a 'populist', apparently.
why are people on the left using "populist" in a positive way now, you shouldn't want your politicians to be populists, "populism" isn't good

Have said in Another Place, but will briefly repeat here: yes it is populist to decry politicians but also there's a reason for it and populism isn't inherently bad. And also, as frequently discussed, the job just isn't that difficult and the workload is artificial.

@nogodsnomayors.com check out Kate Carnell. A mayor in all ways other than title. Painted the stadium grass green in summer to make it look better for investors. Had multiple car crashes through drunk driving. Oh, and also she killed a girl when she blew up a hospital.
