Their copy in ads tries to state that this is supposed to be for people to see stories that one side isn’t covering— but putting CBC in the left and Globe and Mail in the centre means that however they formulate their bias is horseshit.
Just found out about this ridiculous shit called "Ground News" that rates whether a news story is "right" or "left". Here's an example — tell me if you can spot the glaring statistical/cognitive error that forms the basis for its little system.

But sure, let's change bail laws to put even more people into places like Maplehurst. That'll really solve problems, right?

People want a new pipeline like they want a pony. It's very different once it's in your own back yard, shitting everywhere.
I'd still like to see what these numbers look like -- particularly in BC -- if there's a specific proposal on the table and it's faced with significant opposition, but still fair to say the pipeline proponents are starting from a decent place

I had a chuckle at the options offered - my exaggerated version - prioritize your support with numbers 1-3: Doug ford’s tax cuts to donors, tax cuts to businesses that donate to Doug, providing financial incentives to Doug’s donors, promoting Doug’s donors, or making things easier for Doug’s donors.

Majority governments are bullshit. Parties should drop the “we need a mandate” line that is the harbinger of more and more concentration of power in one person to do whatever they want cuz 18% of folks voted for them. They’re going to need to work together and hope they have enough sense to do that
Seriously I blame the uncoordinated mess of parties left of the Ontario Conservatives at least as much as Ford and crew. After Ontario Liberals get their new leader (that’s soon, right?), we have to force these parties to work together at least to topple the dynasty and replace the electoral system
Two ways I can think of to channel your despair at the Ford wrecking ball:
-run for municipal office and fight
-push the Ontario Liberals, NDP, and Greens from the inside and out to get over themselves and get their shit together to get these jokers out of government

Huge moment in this interview with @frankdomenic.bsky.social.

NDP leadership candidate @avilewis.ca puts proportional representation on the national stage and makes it the non negotiable democratic reform we need.

When leadership contenders acknowledge the core issue, the national debate shifts.

As a pickup truck driver. There are waaayyy too many extended cab trucks driving around for groceries.
“As pickups transitioned from farm/ranch workhorses to lifestyle vehicles, their design shifted accordingly: Cabs expanded to accommodate more passengers, while beds shrank. The first generation of F-150s were 36% cab & 64% bed by length. By 2021, the ratio had flipped.

Western alienation is not inevitable.

It is what you get when millions of votes in the West elect almost no one and voters are told their communities do not count unless they back the winning side.

Proportional representation would take the heat out of the divide.

I've filtered Ottawa's traffic collision data to show only collisions with injuries for each year, and then added the speed camera locations present in those years.

It looks like speed cameras have made the roads much safer.

#OttCity keeps trying the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

We're asking upper levels of government to cover an additional $47-million for transit. We've tried this before. It's never happened, leading to funding shortfalls.

What makes us think it will be different this time?

One of the strategic failures of #OttCity Road Safety Action Plan is the lack of communications about where speed camera revenues are spent.

I got the list via #ATIP. Here are some projects that were only made possible because of these revenues. Full data at tinyurl.com/4brrmh9j
