Me: So… I’m thinking of taking on this shiny new thing.

Spouse: Okay. Your card is full. So what are you going to drop to make space for this?

Oof.

He’s absolutely right. As usual.

One of the most powerful things we can do as educators is to focus on teaching about peaceful conflict resolution to help prevent future wars.

Peace in our words.

Peace in our tone.

Peace in our body language.

Peace in our actions.

Peace.

On this day in 1989 I remember seeing adults on the television with tears streaming down their faces. Everyone was talking about “the Berlin Wall coming down”.

I was little, but I knew this was a big deal.

It is the first major news item that I can remember from my childhood.

If I could ACTUALLY indoctrinate children, I’d indoctrinate the grade six kids to remember to wear deodorant and bring a change of clothing on gym class days.

Ontario lost 38,000 jobs in the second quarter of 2025. The fact is that people aren’t falling behind because they’re lazy and don’t want to work. They are falling behind because this government doesn’t care enough about workers to create and protect Ontario jobs.

Education needs to be more than walking the halls with an Educational Assistant or spending time in a sensory room. Actual educational programming needs to be happening for ALL kids.

Make no mistake Ontarians, democracy in our province is under attack.

This is how Doug Ford does it - in a much quieter way than Trump.

11yo ran out of books to read today.

So we headed over to the @kitchlibrary.bsky.social and she found two new books to get her through the weekend.

If you as a leader truly believe in what you are doing, then you should be ready to publicly defend your policies and actions, and be ready to deal with any heat that comes your way as a result.

Do not ask or expect your employees to act as human shields.

Ontario is in a homelessness and affordability crisis. This government knows it but still chooses different priorities. It’s not that we “can’t” fund supports. It’s that they won’t.
9.1 million dollars could pay the salary of many educational assistants to keep students safe and open up access to equitable education.

What could $9.1 million do for healthcare, public transit, supportive housing, or the environment?
