Judges who ruled against Trump say harassment and threats have changed their lives
More than 100 pizzas were delivered to the homes of judges and their families this year, some with signs of foreign involvement. Judges say the message is clear: We know where you live.

One of the biggest myths in the United States which I think genuinely causes so many of our problems is the belief that executives of large companies/financial institutions need a good or accurate understanding of the macroeconomy to consistently make money. Its just not true.

So I have the cover story in next month's TNR.

I interviewed the heads of police groups; immigration defense attorneys, ex-judges and ex-prosecutors; former DOJ and DHS officials, and the former head of Border Patrol.

They're all horrified at what we've seen, and they all fear what's coming.
Trump’s Immigration Nightmare: It Is Happening Here
With astonishing speed, the administration has toppled the most cherished pillars of a free society. And the experts agree: It’s all going to get much, much worse.

"A cover-up that highlights how much important material is still being covered up isn’t an effective coverup at all. Which is a good thing. And if that’s making Trump unhappy? I kind of think that’s a good thing, too.

Happy holidays!"

One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.
Rob Reiner: “Silence in the face of authoritarianism is complicity. Speaking out is a patriotic act. Democracy doesn’t defend itself. It requires participation, vigilance, and courage from ordinary people."

I’m not even going to publish a copy of Trumps comments about Reiner and his wife. But occasionally he reminds me that he is simply one of the worst, most degenerate individuals who has ever existed in American public life. Hard to think of any more vicious, vile and sociopathic.

Crushing. Rob gave us so much laughter & joy. From the Smothers Brothers to "All in the Family" to wonderful movies ("Princess Bride, "Spinal Tap"). And he was a passionate progressive advocate—and a great guy, full of stories and enthusiasm, to spend time with. A horrific end to a horrific weekend.

The new National Security Strategy is a propaganda document, designed to be widely read. It is also a performative suicide. Hard to think of another great power ever abdicating its influence so quickly and so publicly. It will be worth following the reactions around the world, not just in Europe.
Trump's national security strategy is out and some of the Europe sections are shocking. "...the growing influence of patriotic European parties indeed
gives cause for great optimism."

I hope people take two minutes to listen to this shocking display of bigotry. It brings clarity to what we are fighting against. We should all be sick to hear such un-American drivel from the President of the United States.
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

DOGE did not fail in any way to accomplish its goals.

Its goals were never efficiency or saving money.

Its goals were to destroy as much of government as possible forever, and to steal data for the Space Nazi.

DOGE is fading away like bank robbery gangs fade away after the robberies are done.

John Brennan’s CIA hacked into Senate Dems’ computers to try to delete the report. It has been such a wacky decade that I have to remind myself how out of control the CIA was. And Lindsey thinks he‘s entitled to half a million because his phone records were legally subpoenaed by the FBI.

This is inside baseball, but to me, there are three ways in which this development *bears out* Justice Jackson's unusual intervention Friday night—about which there was much confusion.

First, this makes it clear that a majority of the Court was *not* going to force the USDA to fund SNAP by Friday.
#BREAKING: Over a public dissent from Justice Jackson, #SCOTUS *extends* the temporary pause of the district court’s order that had mandated full SNAP payments for November—keeping that ruling (and those payments) on hold through the end of the day this Thursday:
