Dems have an opportunity here. Every single Dem member of congress should issue a statement identical to the one that set Trump off this morning. Force the conversation about illegal orders and signal to the military that they have their backs. He’s obviously scared. Time to press the advantage.

Here’s me putting down a marker that the senate vote will be a majority, but *just* shy of veto-proof. I’m sure they can cobble together enough nay votes from Rs that are retiring or not up in ‘26. Oh, and I bet Fetterman votes no.

Proof that JD never did anything very strenuous while in the Corps. They don’t call the 400mg Ibuprofen tabs “Ranger candy” for no good reason.
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

He desperately wants to send out checks to people with his name on them. He knows that people will like that and not really think much about what they are or why they got them.

It‘s really easy to set up a monthly donation. If you can afford it, donating cash to your local food bank goes a long way toward helping them serve more people.

For anyone who wants more context on the controversies surrounding the Alamo, I highly recommend reading “Forget the Alamo“ by Bryan Burrough, Chris Tomlinson, and Jason Stanford. There’s a mythology around the Alamo that is almost entirely fictional.

The grift, graft, and corruption of this administration is far, far beyond the scope and scale of any previous examples. The most unsettling aspect is that there is no longer any attempt to conceal it. Our leaders have overwhelmingly failed us.

Straight up exploitation. This is some truly evil shit.
Holy fucking shit

I give it no more than 2-3 months before Platner is on Rogan railing about how he was canceled. The only prevention is for someone with enough juice to take him aside and lay it all out to him until he understands how exactly it is that he fucked up.

Nice to see, but polls don’t mean jack when we have all three branches of the gov’t hell bent on just destroying the country as it used to be. I’m increasingly convinced that the path out of this is not through elections. Too much has been destroyed and too little formal resistance has materialized.

They keep pushing at the edges, testing resolve, probing resistance. The ultimate problem that they have is that giant chunks of revenue flow from the areas they’re targeting. At some point they will force a response, and the longer that takes the more drastic the response will need to be.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.

Keep repeating this, over and over. Every day. They did it to Biden, it can be done to Trump.
Pritzker: "It's clear that Donald Trump has diminished capacity, which I think is sad -- that the people around him are not getting him help, and instead they're just taking advantage of him. And that's what Stephen Miller is."

All this, every day. Blowing up these boats and murdering the occupants is all to satisfy the deranged delusions of Trump and Hegseth. If they were serious about stopping the flow of drugs, they’d want these people alive and talking.
Himes: If you've got the capability to blow a boat out of the water, you've got the capability to interdict it, arrest everyone on board, interrogate them, and find out where it was going, where it came from, who the bosses are, and what the distribution networks look like.

Oh damn. That’s brilliant.
What I don't have in experience, I make up for in integrity.

And what Andrew Cuomo lacks in integrity, he could never make up for with experience.

I’m increasingly worried about the level of fortitude that will be required to wrest control back from the authoritarians. Even after we can make that happen, it will be a massive effort to reconstruct the Republic and put preventive measures in place. We have a Herculean task ahead of us.

I honestly have no idea what he’s even trying to assert with this statement. It makes no sense whatsoever.

There is no conceivable argument that these ships, even if we assume they were carrying narcotics, could not be dealt with in some other way. I think we can just drop the caveats and say: This is mass murder.
Unless and until some kind of compelling legal and moral argument is presented as to why this is a legitimate use of deadly force, this is just…mass murder.

It’s well past time for mainstream news outlets to start calling out this absolute nonsense BS. What he’s saying is easily debunked!
Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."
