These are the voyages...

This is a special commemorative (100,000 sold) model of a range of all-in-one computers manufactured by Sharp.

Feels particularly appropriate for a graphic of the Enterprise on its screen. Keyboard... How quaint..

in today’s climate, bills like this are necessary and long overdue

hear me out though

*nobody* should have their personal information widely available on the internet anymore, public officials or otherwise

we need to start clawing back a lot of the privacy that we have lost over the decades
Ohio bill could protect lawmakers by shielding their addresses on public websites
The bill from a Republican senator from northeast Ohio is called the PEACE Act—Protect Elected Officials Against Coercion and Extremism.

some libraries even have a whole shelf for donated craft supplies, including stuff for sewing and knitting/crochet
If you go to your library, most provide free colouring pencils and paper if you ask nicely. They will let you have it. Crayons too. Heck some even host art classes resources all provided!

everyone on my timeline won’t stop talking about the topic of the day, ai, and here i am just wishing i was out birdwatching where ever the heck this place is while plotting how to earn millions of dollars to just give away to ecological restoration projects

fun side fact, the furcula is found in many species of theropods which eventually evolved into modern birds
One popular Thanksgiving tradition is making a wish while breaking the fulcrum of the turkey, more commonly known as the wishbone. 🧵⬇️

the story was meh
the platforming was meh
the dungeon crawling was meh

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

i love when an ai thread starts gaining traction

it brings ai proponents out into the open so i can quickly and easily block them
he’s the creator of Flask. he’s literally the creator of Django. you dipshits he invented Zoop. better watch how you talk to the actual inventor of Peebo
Wow 80% bad-faith responses, and people lecturing the creator of Flask here and the creator of Django/datasette in the comments on why AI is useless for software engineering...

About 99.9% of you who pirate books live in an area with a public library, and that library almost certainly has some sort of digital ebook platform. Go get a library card and a Libby account and just wait your six weeks for your free copy to borrow like the rest of us.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.

i kept on putting off buying ‘last stop in yuma county’ hoping to get it on sale. i shot myself in the foot though, because outside of amazon and ebay, it seems to be sold out everywhere.

the silver lining is that means more people than just i enjoyed that movie.

here’s hoping for a reprint.

trying to riff a little off of kyosai’s painting of two crows but giving it a slightly different energy, getting frustrated with the results, and giving up

still felt the effort was worth sharing though

had a dream this morning where i still had my windows 3.1 pc, complete with crt monitor and dot matrix printer, and i was going to record a video of it to share on bluesky only for it to not even boot up so all i had to show off were three unwieldy paper weights and an existential crisis
