i used to do stuff like that from time to time. my favorite thing to do was get blank cd/dvd inserts and just make my own custom art. sadly i don’t have anything that has survived to today, but at least i have the memories of making them.

if you’ve never played it, i recommend “hotshot racing.” it’s got that arcade racing feel, the computer opponents adjust to your driving style for better or worse (don’t get too aggressive or you’ll regret it), creative track designs, and so much personality. it’s not deep, but it’s very fun.

true story. there are at least *three* of these in cincinnati today, two white ones and an orange one. i’ve seen the two white ones in a car lot a few years ago and the orange one on a trailer last summer. i highly doubt i’ll ever see a roadworthy one.

i got a used dvd box set from a local bookstore. the first two discs are unreadable for some reason, so i just jumped straight into the middle. it’s actually really good.* i’d say it’s better than most of the modern stuff.
*i’m also nostalgic for mid ‘90s tech and cars, so that tilts my opinion.

honestly, i think ‘godzilla 2014’ and ‘kong: skull island’ were the only two good films. objectively good. well shot, well written, well paced. ‘kotm’ wasn’t good, but it was at least fun. everything after is certainly worth skipping.

there are two problems with the seasonal red bulls and they both circle back to the fact that every last one is delicious.
a) they’re for a limited time and i miss them when they’re gone

b) my doctor says red bulls aren’t really all the great for men my age

if there is one common theme between many of the mid 8 and 16-bit consoles it’s that the japanese cover art almost consistently blew away the american cover art. i will argue to my dying breath that the sega master system would have performed better in the states if the games had better cover art.

i hate to vague post, but i’m also a pretty private man. so let me just say that for the past two months my wife and i have been busting our asses off and i think by the end of this weekend it will finally have paid off for us.
i’m exhausted and sleep deprived, but also really, really happy.

i rewatched the ‘baby assassins’ trilogy. i loved the fight choreography and humor in the first two films and find them just as enjoyable as the first time around. the third film just isn’t for me though, i feel like the darker and more serious tone holds it back. all three are still pretty good.
