This is what is going to happen. There will be a thin top layer of non-digital universities — and all the tech billionaires will send their kids to those places.
Total success to the first college/university that pledges to be AI-free and brand it as an opportunity to receive a real education.
My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.

Earlier this week, 42 state attorneys general sent a warning letter to the major AI companies regarding the dangers and harms created by AI chatbots. It's as forceful an indictment of what's happening that I've found, so here's a short thread to walk you through the evidence they've compiled... 🧵

The Greeting Card Project, Final Chapter: A greeting card publisher suggested taking old pulp illustrations and matching them with "edgy" copy. This sort of thing has been done very well by others, so I'm busted up about these not going forward, but there are still some yuks to be had here.

MAGA Traitors Need to "Go Back" and Leave America

If the GOP hates the Constitution, diversity, free and fair elections, voting rights, and the concept of separation of church and state, then maybe it hates America & should leave.

The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.

They really do want to just take all our money and then kill us all, or maybe the other way around. It was under Bush that I first saw that the GOP had become a death cult, but I honestly did not think it would get this far. It's not enough for them to waste their lives, they have to waste ours too.

So anyway, Dr. Brainworm has decided to kill untold numbers of people. He's directed the CDC and ACIP to stop vaccinating babies against Hepatitis B.
They really do want to kill us all. They bring only death. No progress, no wonderful new inventions, no economic expansion.

I don't care if you think that AI can do some really nifty things. It's being rammed down our throats by obscenely wealthy men who are also, obviously, both dangerously right-wing and mentally unstable, and no rational society should be allowing that to happen. End of discussion.

Think much of the over-parenting we despise stems from the early on fear of the driver.
If parents weren't terrified of our streets kids would have so much more freedom and independence which might get them comfortable with their children's ability to navigate the world without them.
