The 100 lowest-paying major US corporations spent $522B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2023.

Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay.

The typical worker at these companies earned just $34k.

Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $14.7M.

See the problem?

If you still put stuff in envelopes and mail them, why not get some flag stamps and put them on upside down? Maybe no one will notice, but they might.

If democracy survives, we’ll look at what Elon is doing now the same way we now view the aftermath of 9/11 or January 6th itself—unforgivable attacks on our democracy that, in retrospect, everyone should have seen coming.
What Elon really wants to eliminate is your ability to rule yourself

The devil's greatest trick is getting anyone to believe that Elon Musk—a man who has sucked fortune from the taxpayers’ teat—gives a shit about budgets.

People need to stop with the "in 4 years" crap. Russia has elections too. They aren't free or fair. Dem leadership handed the keys to a drunk driver with no plan on how to stop him.

Mass firings, shutting down critical services, blowing up our alliances, crashing the markets, encouraging inflation...

These aren't the actions of a political party aspiring to get reelected.

These are the actions of an authoritarian regime that does not intend to honor elections ever again.

Fun fact: Project 2025 mentions Biden 375 times. That’s out of 839 pages. So, approximately 45% of the pages mention Biden.

Whole Foods, which is owned by notorious union-buster Amazon, is arguing that Trump's dismantling of the NLRB means the company doesn't have to recognize a newly unionized store in Philadelphia.

Looks like Jeff Bezos's investment in Trump is paying off.

This is why Space Caligula throttles posts with external news links on X. He encourages users to post their made up “citizen journalism” and conspiracy theories directly on to his platform. It’s much easier to manipulate vibes than it is to argue with facts.
"When scientists develop arguments, they don’t say, 'Because I said so.' They say, 'The evidence shows ... ' Authoritarians don’t do that. They come up with lots of different strategies to prevent you from asking questions. They don’t give responses that answer them."
