"Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Soundtrack" was released on this day in 1977. Released a month before the film, it was an instant success, selling over 16 million copies. For the next seven years, it was the biggest selling album of all time, until "Thriller" surpassed it in 1984.

The Beatles “Yellow Submarine” movie premiered in the U.S. on November 13, 1968. A wildly surreal film that clearly influenced the world of animation, and is often credited as allowing people to see the medium as an art form. Also, you can't go wrong with a soundtrack by The Beatles.
