Regular reminder that the majority of the people who dreamed up the stories you love are, like, BROKE broke, and that most of the money spent on their work was given to Some Guy™️ instead.

it is terrifying and awful that this passed the House with any Dem support at all (and once again, the continued leadership support for Cuellar is unconscionable)

call your senators and make absolutely sure this dies in the Senate, lives are on the line

trans people deserve so much better
Henry Cuellar, Don Davis, and Vicente Gonzalez joined Republicans in voting to criminalize trans health care.

The bill passed only 216 to 214.

4 Republicans voted no. If they did too, it would have failed.

How oddly specific.

I neither knew nor cared about the type of vehicle in which Duffy lost his virginity but I guess we all just have to live with this now
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

What game made you fall in love with video games?

As a kid, I was enthralled by tales of knights (King Arthur & co. in particular) as well as The Hobbit, and then a friend had the first Wizardry and it was like, "Here, you can (kinda sorta) 'be' all that..."

happy max headroom hijacking day to all who celebrate. become ungovernable.
"Thirty-eight years ago today a Chicago television signal was hijacked and the airing program was replaced by a stranger in a Max Headroom mask. The perpetrator has never been identified."

Is that rainbow coming out of the author's ass?
What if the A.I. bubble “is an inevitable part of developing and adopting a revolutionary tool that will fundamentally improve productivity and growth?” Mohamed El-Erian writes.
Opinion | A.I. Is a Bubble. Maybe That’s OK.
Investors’ excitement rightly reflects the potential transformation of the entire economy.

Uh hey, a heads up:

This is probably a good time to make sure that you go into settings on your profiles and make sure that "autoplay video" is turned off. Setting labels like 'violence' to "hide" or "don't show" is likewise a good idea if you don't want to see the TPUSA shooting by accident.

Randomly getting ‘down in front’ passes to Metallica/Guns ‘n’ Roses/Bodycount Day on the Green because we happened to be in the shortest line (i.e. farthest from the BART offramp) waiting to get in so we were in this little fenced-off area right at the stage and spared from the customary sod fight
What is your biggest concert flex?

Probably Wizards - which I didn't even actually like when I saw it (and still don't really care for). But we were all JUST getting into D&D and weird sci-fi and whatever, and Wizards said other people weren't merely into this stuff, they were *making films of it* so we should maybe Go Find All That
What movie has had the most impact on your actual literal life? Not necessarily your favorite, but the one that’s most influenced or shaped something in your trajectory?

The Dackelmuseum (dachshund museum) in Germany.

Not like a natural history kind of thing, but rather a space filled to the brim with dachshund-related trinkets (figurines, etc.). Delightful.

Was in Passau when we went, but I think has now moved upriver to Regensburg
what is the most unique museum u have visited
for me possibly the ramen museum
more museums should provide fries at the end tbh

The Wiz.
