So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

The GOP doesn't want less spending—they want a smaller pool of RECIPIENTS.
Their goal is to allocate our taxes to the fewest Americans possible & it’s those leeches that are hoarding the benefits of taxation.

FYI we are all currently paying Lindsey Graham’s health insurance premium.
At least they FINALLY admitted why they refused to negotiate on the shutdown. First they lied and promised Dems they would “negotiate” this, but only AFTER they voted for the CR. But Dems were correct when they assessed that Republicans NEVER intended to extend these subsidies.

Newsom's policies on the unhoused are draconian as fuck. I keep bringing it up, but he made a whole ass vid of himself trashing unhoused belongings as a publicity stunt. Like it was some heroic act and not incredibly fucked up and dehumanizing. And he criminalized being unhoused.

Since we have the time, people should really inform themselves about Newsom's specifically loathsome policies/statements against three extremely vulnerable and marginalized groups: the disabled, the unhoused, and trans people.
I hate the idea of Gavin Newsome being president. The goal should not be Democrat Trump. The man is ableist and all kinds of problematic. The way so many people support him is distressing. If he gets in office, I fear for the lives of disabled people in America just as much as I fear for them now.

When I was a lawyer at a large law firm after 9/11–when DHS was created almost overnight—a former CIA counsel and Reagan Republican (then a partner at my firm), told me that the creation of the Department was a fundamental mistake because it would eventually dossier everyone for gov’t purposes.
Everything the “don’t tread on me” folks claimed to care about is being done by the people they now blindly support
