They raided the jailed children to steal their letters.

The problem, in federal officials' minds, wasn't confining children in prison-camp conditions; it was that the children could tell the public about it.
“I don’t want to be in this place I want to go to my school.”

- 7 year old imprisoned by ICE for 70 days in a concentration camp in Texas.

Today, after @propublica.org published this story, the camp was raided to confiscate letters from the children.

I am an idiot but at least a Nobel Laureate agrees with me on something, although it is concerning that someone responsible for a lot of people's money does not agree with him too

This is like everything bad in tech joining forces all at once like the Sinister Six or the Constructions merging into Devastator, and of course it comes at the expense of the people we should be protecting the most
Alpha School, an “AI-powered private school” that heavily relies on AI to teach students and can cost up to $65,000 a year, is AI-generating faulty lesson plans that internal documentation finds. @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

Things would be a lot better in Westeros if the First Men or the Andals introduced settling disputes with dance offs instead of trials by combat
Unfortunately I *will* click on every single video of the actors who play Dunk and Egg and I *will* watch all of them many times

The lesson from Wonder Man, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Starfleet Academy, even Andor is that there is an audience for high-quality but not grandiose stories in otherwise grandiose universes
Wonder Man slapped! I need more of this MCU, PLEASE.

I agree this editor is a dumbass for these:

— "By removing writing from reporters' workloads..."
— "If you’re a student considering journalism, I’d skip that degree"

But the opposite extreme is also dumbassery. AI agents can add value for journalists like they do for this documentarian

#Python is 31x slower than Go and #Java for MCP servers.

That's from TM Dev Lab's new benchmark. Their recommendation: Don't use Python for AI at scale in prod

I wrote about this last year. Python's strengths for ML prototyping become weaknesses at enterprise scale. Nice to see the data confirm it

As someone who has advocated trading Mounty for so long that he had significant trade value when I started, this makes sense. And the #Orioles being unable to buy a top free agent starter plus Alonso makes Mayo available for a top starter although I have been bullish on him for several years
The #Orioles are still considering trading one of Ryan Mountcastle or Coby Mayo:

I too have no problem with the #Dodgers doing everything they can within the rules to create and sustain a dynasty. I also think if you aren't capping what the businesses make then you shouldn't cap what their employees make

Salary floor, increased revenue sharing, maybe an NBA-like apron-based cap
Padres' Manny Machado: Dodgers' spending 'great for the game'
Padres star Manny Machado has no problem with the rival Dodgers continuing to spend on players while his own team -- and others -- takes a backseat in free agency.

Republicans claim they want to deny reproductive freedom because of concern for life. That isn't true

Republicans claim they want to protect the vote because of fraud. That isn't true

Either way, liberals always debate Republicans on the false terms they set rather than call out the lie. Can't win

People conflate the success of AI with the likelihood of a bubble burst. Two things are true: 1) Big Tech is over leveraged into the trillions and needs to convince you AI is actual intelligence and 2) AI is useful for far less glamorous things

So the tech will persist even as the economics tumble
AI is a bubble, but too many people confuse a bad investment strategy with the tech itself. AI will not go away after the bubble bursts any more than websites went away after the dot-com crash. The tech is too useful (though not the panacea the hype mongers would have us believe).
